When the producers of The Sopranos wanted to cast "a wiseguy with a big mouth," for the final episodes of the series there was only ever going to be one actor that filled that particular role – Daniel Baldwin.
Oh, come on, you know who Daniel Baldwin is – he's the bloke from King Of The Ants! No? Oh, alright, he's the bloke that crashed his car and ended up in hospital last month after he drove his car around Los Angeles like a dick. Yeah, him. Anyway, Daniel Baldwin is joining the cast of The Sopranos for its last few episodes. Even though Daniel Baldwin will be playing Daniel Baldwin, we still expect that Alec Baldwin turned the role down first. And William Baldwin. And Stephen Baldwin.
Viewers are getting ready to brace themselves for the end of The Sopranos. Well, they would be had James Gandolfini not buggered his knee up and pushed back production of the last few episodes for five months, but you get the idea. And now there's a new team player to help The Sopranos reach its climax in style: it's Daniel Baldwin.
Apart from easily being the least famous Baldwin brother, Daniel Baldwin is mostly known for being the second-most famous actor to have ended up in hospital after crashing his car in LA last month. He would have been the first, too, had Haley Joel Osment not done exactly the same thing less than 24 hours afterwards, the precocious asswipe. But now it looks like Daniel Baldwin is about to become legitimately famous as the man who played himself in a horror film in the last few episodes of The Sopranos.
Daniel Baldwin will enter The Sopranos as the second-choice star of Christopher's horror film (like "Saw meets Godfather 2") after Ben Kingsley passes on the movie script that was written for Christopher by a kidnapped scriptwriter with a gambling addiction, obviously. It's likely to be a recurring role, although nobody seems to know what part, if any, Daniel Baldwin will play in the end of The Sopranos.
But that probably depends on whether or not he's allowed to drive a car on set.
