The President of the United States Of America is undoubtedly the most powerful man on the planet. Should he want to, he has the power to make the world a better place. He could negotiate ends to conflicts, change millions of lives for the better and generally go down in history as a strong leader and a wonderful man.
Or, if you’re President Clinton, you could just make up a posh mixtape and flog it on your website.
Mixtapes are great, we’ve all made them. They can serve so many purposes
– to let people hear some different music, to show off your
borderline-obsessive knowledge of Japanese psych-rock, to try and tell
someone how you feel about them with songs because you’re such a
hopelessly repressed sack of crap that you can’t physically say "You’re
quite nice" with your mouth to their face. The list goes on.
And now former President Bill Clinton (Books) wants in on the act. He’s
found time inbetween stopping AIDS and being inspired by Africa and
stuff to put together his own compilation CD, entitled The Bill Clinton
Collection: Selections From The Clinton Music Room.
Now, if we were The Sun, we’d take this opportunity to suggest some
hilarious joke song names that Clinton wanted to include. Songs like
Cum Suck’in Slut by DJ Thadz. Or Dick Lips by Blink 182. Or American
Fuck Machine by I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch In The House. But we won’t
do that. Eat My Dick by The Cookie Crashers.
Instead, the CD features a mixture of smooth jazz tunes, including
songs by Nina Simone, Zoot Sims, Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Further
collections are planned, to show Clinton’s love of R&B, rock n’
roll and Czechoslovakian drugsploitation B-movie operatic freakouts. One of those is a lie, can you guess which one?
The Bill Clinton Collection: Selections From The Clinton Music Room is expected to go on sale in the next month or so.
