Those of you eager to see Boy George holding court in the Celebrity Big Brother house can get a little bit excited – the Boy George cocaine court case has been postponed until February.
What was the reason that Boy George’s court case has been pushed back? So he could "work on literary and recording projects in England". Is Celebrity Big Brother literary? Not really. But some of it is recorded. Kind of.
On October 7th, Boy George (CDs) called the New York Police to report a
pre-dawn burglary at his Manhattan apartment, but the tables were
turned when officers found a small amount of cocaine near a computer
and arraigned Boy George for fourth-degree criminal possession of a
controlled substance.
Boy George was released the next day without bail, and promptly flew
over to England before he’d even had chance to put a lovely hat on, or
to colour the bottom of his jaw in black to make him look less jowelly or
anything.
George had been due back in court yesterday, but the defence and prosecution requested an adjournment until February 1st. According to Associated Press:
The judge asked whether the case was near a resolution. Assistant
District Attorney Craig Ortner said he and George’s lawyer had held
discussions. But Lewis Freeman, George’s lawyer, said no plea
negotiations had yet taken place.
But where does that leave Boy George regarding Celebrity Big Brother? So far he’s been touted as the big name celebrity to enter the house – could the adjournment be anything to do with that? Certainly, the "literary and recording projects" line sounds possible, and a lot more credible than "he’s been offered loads of money to sit in a room with a bunch of unfamous mongs for a couple of weeks."
Endemol is famously cagey about revealing who goes on Celebrity Big Brother, so we’re just going to have to wait and see.

Boy George’s Court Case Postponed – Newsday
[story by Stuart Heritage]
Chris Harris says
While it is unfortunate that Boy George has to deal with his court problems wouldn’t it be nice if he honored his contracts? Red parrot talent agency based out of London has yet to refund numerous deposits taking for DJ bookings. I paid them $10,000.00 USD for a gig that he canceled 24 hours before he was to appear. Besides the disappointed fans, the refunds I ha to pay and the thousands in advertising I am still waiting for someone to take responsibility for the money owed to me. Red Parrot claims they paid George the money and he has since fired them to represent him . where does this leave me? This event was a charity fund raiser, where is the professional integrity? why wont George or red parrot refund the deposits paid on his canceled gigs? I sure would like to know.
SALLY says
EVERYONE SHOULD WISH BOY GEORGE WELL RIGHT NOW, AS ITS THE HOLIDAY SEASON AND HE IS GOING THROUGH A TOUGH TIME. EVERYONE SHOULD STAND BY HIM. I LOVE YOU BOY GEORGE AND AM PRAYING FOR YOU.
SYLVIA says
THE COURT CASE MIGHT AS WELL BE HELD UP, SINCE THERE IS INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE TO MAKE IT A REAL CASE.I THINK THE BEST THING FOR EVERYONE TO DO IS TO KEEP LOVING GEORGE AND TO BELIEVE IN HIS INNOCENCE AND THAT HE IS TELLING THE TRUTH.I AM SURE HE WILL GET THROUGH THIS NIGHTMARE, AND ALL THAT LOVE HIM SHOULD PRAY FOR HIM AND WISH HIM AN EXCELLENT NEW YEAR. I KNOW I DO.
sylvia says
I THINK THAT WHAT BOY GEORGE NEEDS RIGHT NOW IS TO KNOW THAT WE LOVE HIM, AND THAT ALL OF US ARE 100% behind him. he needs to know that we believe in his innocence and that we love him, and are praying for him. boy george is going to escape this nightmare and is going to have a terriffic new year.
Anita says

as boy george said, many people come to his house. those drugs could belong to anyone. he would not call the police on himself if he were guilty.i believe in his innocence and stand behind him 100% also. i believe he doesnt know how those drugs got there. i love you boy george and i’m also praying for you. you’ll get through this and i wish you a great new year, and a very long and happy life.i hope the best comes your way this year to you and your whole family. and the reason boy george may have cancelled some gigs is because maybe he’s overworked, and had a lot to deal with in this past year, like the death of his dad. i.m sure your dad is an angel watching over you right now. i love you, and i’m sure you’ll get through this.
sylvia says
george, we know you’re innocent and are all the way, 100% behind you. good luck and have a terriffic new year.

boy george has been making me and my friends happy since 1984. he and culture club has made some great music over the years. their talent, style and great taste in dress and the extraordinary talent of boy george and his out of this world beauty, is what brought a lot of happiness into my heart and the heart of many of my friends. it is hard for me to believe that george is using drugs. it is so obvious that the whole thing was a setup, or that they could belong to anyone that passed through his houdse as he is a nice and hospitable person. i would like to also add that taboo was a fantastic and original play, with great music, and a beautiful recall of the romantic movement of the eighties that boy george and his music, and style of dress is so responsabile for. and it was the life of the best most talented, original and gorgeous popstar that there ever was. he is also a terriffic actor, as he portraied leigh bowery. boy george i also believe in your innocence 100%. please return to us, your loving fans. we love and miss you. have the best new year, and many more to come. i love you, you’re simply the best. and taboo was terriffic. if it was still playing i’d see it a hundred times.
