Suburban Ohio proved too tame for wild child Beverly D’Angelo, so she left her conservative roots in the dust, determined to make a name for herself in the arts.
After stints as a cartoonist, a rock vocalist in Canada, and a reparatory theater player, she found her way to Hollywood via Broadway. Bit movie parts led to scene-stealing character roles, and ultimately to the career-defining lead as Ellen Griswold in National Lampoon’s Vacation franchise. The only thing more mind-blowing than her career has been her romantic entanglements.
She’s had a tryst with Milos Forman, dated both Meat Loaf and Scott Baio, married and divorced an Italian duke, and had an unconventional coupling with Al Pacino, with whom she had twins at the ripe old age of 49. She still acts occasionally, relishing roles like Babs Miller, the foul-mouthed talent agent on Entourage.
Best known for her topless shower scene in Vacation where she reveals a pair of Grade A tits, D’Angelo has also appeared naked in films like Hair, Lonely Hearts, The Sentinel, First Love and Widow’s Kiss (great love scene). She’s built for it and it’s no surprise that she often takes off her clothes.
