Wow, would you look at that – Louis Walsh decided to stay part of X Factor after all that bother last week. We must have been wrong; it wasn’t a publicity stunt after all. Ahem.
The truth is that now, the X Factor managers are less important than they’ve ever been this series. As far as we can tell, all the elimination decisions rest solely with the public for the remainder of X Factor, which leaves Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne with little more to do than squabble amongst themselves in unconvincingly stage-managed ways.
But which of the managers will win X Factor? We’ve got the latest X Factor winning manager betting odds right here, with help from Sportingodds.com…
Simon Cowell – Simon Cowell showed a little bit of promise on
Saturday by ditching his own act, the completely hopeless Conway
Sisters. By his own admission The Conway Sisters didn’t stand a chance
of winning X Factor, so he decided to let them go. It’s a shame he
won’t have the chance to ditch Journey South, too – although they’ve
somehow managed to bellow their way into the top five, they’ll have a
tough time beating some of the other contestants. So Simon probably
won’t win X Factor, and we’re sure he’ll be very sad as he goes home to
his American Idol millions. Current odds – 100/30
Sharon Osbourne – Statistically, Sharon Osbourne is still the
best-placed manager in X Factor – she’s still managed to keep hold of
three acts where Simon and Louis only have one. But we’re really not
sure she has too much to be confident of; all three of her performers have
already peaked.
Andy hasn’t been able to recreate
the showstopper of a performance that he gave in the first week. Brenda still needs to convince people that a) she is a recording artist
and b) she can pronounce the word "I". And everything Chico does from now on won’t be able to shine a light
on the braindead inanity of It’s Chico Time, no matter how many little
dancing black kids he brings onstage. It doesn’t look hopeful for
Sharon, but don’t write her off just yet. Current odds – 6/4
Louis Walsh – Louis Walsh said that he only returned to X Factor to
manage Shayne. Although, in reality, a pterodactyl in a top hat and a
monocle could manage Shayne. Shayne is in such a strong position that
he can sing pretend 1980s heavy metal like I Believe In A Thing Called
Love and still bring the house down. Shayne looks like he’s running
away with X Factor, which puts Louis in a very strong position. Current
odds – 6/5
