Digg this!

X Factor betting odds Ashley McKenzieAh the old X Factor shock result, how we missed you. Not since Maria Lawson was slung off X Factor before her time last year has there been an elimination more hotly disputed than when Ashley McKenzie was voted out on Saturday.

Possibly because of his weird compulsion to mime each word of the lyrics to The Winner Takes It All like a See Hear reporter with an afro, or possibly as a result of the mental "You're gay," "No, YOU'RE gay" spat between Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh all through Saturday's X Factor, or even possibly because Kate Thornton can't seem to be able to remember that she's meant to be an impartial voice as a host, Ashley McKenzie lost the X Factor sing-off over the weekend and won't been seen on X Factor ever again until the compulsory X Factor tour next year when thousands of spectators will simultaneously mumble "Ashley Who? Oh, the kid with the giant hair," when his name gets announced.

But now that Ashley McKenzie has been voted off X Factor, which remaining contestant will go on to win the show? Here's part one of this week's X Factor betting odds, for The MacDonald Brothers, Nikitta Angus and Robert Allen

MacDonald Brothers – In a way, it was good that Bjorn From Abba was the guest coach on X Factor this week, because the shit he spouted was easily the best thing about the show. For instance, when the obscenely insipid MacDonald Brothers decided to sing Fernando, Bjorn inexplicably told them "It's good for you two to sing because it's about two freedom fighters in ancient Mexico." Whatever the hell that ridiculous piece of advice actually meant, the MacDonald Brothers decided to take it to mean 'perform the song with all the confidence of two men trapped in a cage with an angry grizzly bear, and slip in the most brain-poundingly dull guitar solo halfway through if you can.' And despite their performance rivalling even the most cack-handed days of The Conway Sisters, the MacDonald Brothers still made it through the voting safely. We think they're getting the Scottish vote. Scottish people like Runrig. We have every reason to worry. Current X Factor betting odds – 66/1

Nikitta Angus – On Saturday's X Factor, Nikitta had a nightmare. It's actually a similar nightmare to one we have, where we're forced to watch a young woman maul a tune most people only ironically like in such a horrific way that she bursts into frightened tears the instant she finishes; only in Nikitta's case she was the girl doing the mauling. Our big important computer reported that she only hit two correct notes in her entire performance of Dancing Queen – a song synonymous with drunken hen-night slapper karaoke parties. By the end of the song Nikitta feared the worst, and she got it – short of Louis Walsh forcing her to wear a sausage leotard and then unchaining the pitbulls he keeps underneath his desk, she couldn't have got a worse response from the X Factor judges. But Nikitta breezed through safely, living to gruesomely foul up another day. Current X Factor betting odds – 40/1

Robert Allen – It's becoming clear that two distinct Robert Allens are taking part in this year's X Factor. There's the Robert Allen who stands still, sings Mr Bojangles and generally does quite well, and then there's the Robert Allen who treats his X Factor performances as an excuse to bomb around the stage like an ADD kid with too much Haribo inside him on Christmas morning that the public kinda wishes would just fuck off. On Saturday, we got the latter Robert, who sang a version of Take A Chance On Me that Bjorn From Abba obviously, but very politely, despised. This version involved singing the first bit slowly and then bellowing "Let's party!" "Hey!" "Oh!" "Yeah!" and "Woo!" in between all the bits where he was actually expected to sing. And if it wasn't for a spiteful moment by Louis Walsh, Robert would have been gone for it. But he's still part of X Factor, obviously. Current X Factor betting odds – 33/1
