Buddy Holly death watch sold auctionhecklerspray has recently acquired the piece of Swiss cheese that was (or wasn't) lodged deep in Momma Cass' throat when the lights went out, it's going for $2.50. Also, we're offering up a portion of bathroom tile on which dead Elvis drooled from a very close proximity - asking price: $9.00. Couch cushion stained with Hendrix's hair tonic the day he bell bottomed his way into heaven- $6.99.

Yes, here at hecklerspray, we've got all sorts of celebrity memorabilia for sale - and it's selling like whores in a ship yard! Our prices are so low we've got to find alternate means of putting our kids through college. Which makes us wish we'd been able to sell that Buddy Holly watch which auctioned so recently.

The price was a scream - which is ironic, because he had it on when he died in his 1959 plane crash. Suddenly extreme morbidity has a price tag.

An unnamed woman recently paid $155,350 to get her mitts on the diamond studded watch Buddy Holly was wearing when he realised he was going to die in a plane's quick decent. The watch was recovered from the crash site, and has the inscription:  Buddy Holly 12-1-58 (the date his wife gave it to him as an early Christmas present). Holly died two months and two days later in the famous plane crash, along with Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper.

The watch is said to have gone to a woman who is a "tremendous" fan of Holly. Doug Norwine, who works for the auction house, said about the watches new owner:

"She didn't buy it as an investment, she just really loved his music."

Except he probably said it auction style, like this:

"Shedidn'tbuyitasaninvestmentshejustreallylovedhismusic."

You know how those auction guys talk. Anyway - fan or no fan, to pay so much money for something so intimately related to such extreme horror, pain, and death - it seems a little off to us. But there's people like that, what can we do?

Except profit… and with that fine introduction we'd like to announce our crowning piece! We recently captured Kurt Cobain's ghost in an empty bottle of Snuggles Fabric Softener. He chased in a lemon flavored Skittle and we snapped on the lid. The undead are much more containable than you'd think.
