Will Ferrell Has New Baby, Gives It Disappointingly Normal Name
Then buzz it up

Will Ferrell is officially The Funniest Man On The Planet If You Don't Count The Producers, Bewitched Or Kicking & Screaming, so you'd expect that when his wife gives birth to a baby boy, he'll be first in line to give it a hilarious-sounding name.
But it seems like at the end of last year Will Ferrell was in gently reflective Stranger Than Fiction mode, rather than running around in his pants Talladega Nights mode, since that's when his wife had their second son. And instead of being all funny about naming it, Will Ferrell and his wife opted for the somewhat normal Mattias Ferrell instead. But the second Will Ferrell and his wife have a daughter, that's when - boom - the world can finally meet who it's been waiting for: Beryl Ferrell.
Without question 2006 was the year of the dumbly-named celebrity baby. Just about everyone you can think of had a baby and decided to just call it after an arbitrary sound rather an actual name. Brad and Angelina had Shiloh Nouvel, Tom and Katie had Suri, Britney and Kevin had Jayden, Anna Nicole and any number of men had Dannielynn Hope and Geri - God bless her - had Bluebell Madonna.
And just sneaking in to join the fun in the dying hours of the year were Will Ferrell and his wife Viveca, although they controversially decided to give their new baby a name that wouldn't get it beaten up at school, as Reuters reports:
Mattias Ferrell was born in the early hours on Saturday in Los Angeles, according to a statement from his publicist Matt Labov. "All are healthy, happy and otherwise okay," Labov said. Ferrell and his wife Viveca have one other boy, 2 year-old Magnus.
The birth of Mattias topped off a superb year for Will Ferrell that saw giant terrorist-defeating box office successes and a Golden Globe nomination, and all this good cheer will no doubt spur Will Ferrell on to a 2007 that'll mostly be made of starring in a bunch of comedy films about men running around race tracks in their pants and being unusually boring in interviews.
