Superhero remakes – they’re everywhere.
Batman. Superman. Spiderman. The Fantastic Four. Daredevil. Hulk. Catwoman. If there’s one thing that cinema audiences seem to enjoy, it’s watching people with superhuman powers save the world from stupid bald people.
Next year, a new production of Wonder Woman (DVDs) will begin shooting. But a female lead actress hasn’t been chosen yet. Everyone… well, some people… OK, just us. We’re are asking "Who will be the next Wonder Woman?"
There have been some early Wonder Woman names thrown about. Sandra
Bullock is a possible star, but original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter says
she’s too old. As is Catherine Zeta-Jones, apparently, although Carter might be
confusing her with her doddery old husband.
It’s assumed that a younger actress will take the role. Katie Holmes
keeps being linked to the role. She’s undoubtedly more high-profile
since she got together with Tom Cruise, but anyone who watched her
cack-handedly dribble her way through her tiny role in Batman Begins
might have been put off somewhat.
The film is being directed by Buffy The Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon, so we can’t
discount Sarah Michelle Geller. Or that ginger girl. Or one of the
others.

I just saw a preview of the new wonder woman for fall of 2009 and it was Charisma Carpenter from Buffy and Angel playing wonder woman. Sounds like a great idea, I haven’t even thought of her. Apparently it didn’t even make it to be aired on TV.
He’d be insane not to use Charisma Carpenter.

I think Sandra Bullock or Catherine Zeta-Jones would make a great Wonder Woman even thought they may be too old. I do think since Lynda Carter did such a GREAT job as wonder woman, she should have a say in it. If anyone ever watched Bones on Fox TV Channel that stars David Boreanaz(Angel) and Emily Deschanel, I think Emily Deschanel would make a wonderful Wonder Woman. In fact they did an episode where she was dress up like Wonder Woman. She look very good, at the end she even twirled around like Wonder Woman. I thought for sure she was going to be the lead. Who ever does take the role has got to out shine Lynda Carter. With her looks and figure, that’s going to be one hard feat.

I really wanted Megan Fox to be the next wonder woman, she was perfect for the role. Who on earth will play that role now. I think they should offer an obsene amount of money maybe then she would do it. Darn shame.
Dont forget the role needs to go to a tall dark haired beuty with blue eyes that really looks like an amazon warrior. Jessica Biel is next in line if not Megan Fox. I hope they dont turn this movie into cheese ,she is an american hero after all. In these cash strapped times we need one.

The Amazon Princess should not only be beautiful but also athletically fit. My front runner would be Jessica Biel and some one that no is talking about Gina Carano would be my second choice. I know Gina has no acting experience that I know of but when you think about it she is perfect for the part (height at 5ft8in, natural beauty and a awsome body). If nothing else she would definately fill out the Wonder Woman outfit; which would have us all smiling.
Lets not forget Wonder Woman is a super hero and should look the part. So Jessica and Gina would be the obvious choices; in my eyes.
I don’t think megan fox should be the next wonder woman. Her acting sucks. the only reason she’s famous is her looks. you need someone who would be good at it, and would be someone EVERYbody enjoys seeings, not just the men.
I like the idea of sandra bullok or someone who has been on the acting field longer.
I disagree with Megan Fox for the role, she is just 5’4″ for God’s sake! Wonder Woman is an amazon! They outgrew men because in Themiscyra they have to do everything. If you look at the Justice League series she is taller than all the men in the league with the exception of Superman who is taller and Batman is the same height. Also Jessica Biel looks to hot mama for me. WW should be beautiful but not too sensual and should have naiveness because she is discovering a new world! I think good candidates for the role are Charlize Theron (have you seen her in Aeonflux) and Milla Jovovich (see Ultraviolet). Both are excellet in action movies, are tall, curvy yet athletic and more important to the studio executives they are blockbusters, their names means money. Hope they cast them or an unkown actress who are about 6′tall. Remember is an icon and the movie sell itself. Finally I hope the cast Lynda Carter as Hypolita!

Also, Katie Holmes looks anemic and her posture sucks. She is always bend to the front and doesn’t look athletic or healthy enough. There are a lot of ex Misses tall with great figures to land the role. Maybe an unknown will be suitable for the part but not Beyonce or Ann Hattaway! NOOOO! Looks like it will be Australian model Megan Gale. 5ft 11 1/2 in tall (wow!). Just googled some pics she definatley has the look to pull off an Amazon princess. She could tone up her arms a bit but other than that she will be perfect.

I am a comic book movie remake fan. I’ve always felt Catherine Zeta-Jones should play wonder woman, despite her age. I’ve been feeling this for years now, so the age part is outdated. Anyway, I agree with some of you that Megan Fox would be good. I liked her fight back ways in Transformers. Jessica Biel (I just can’t see it). Some of the other names that were mentioned above, I don’t know who those women are. Whoever it is should measure up to Lynda Carter’s beauty, which is why I chose Catherine. It will be hard to cast someone for this role.
They tried to remake bionic woman (and is just didn’t work). They went to far with the updated stuff.

Not much acting experience but she did audition well for the wonder woman part ie director was impressed. Relatively unknown but so was lynda carter prior to her role as WW.

I agree with a previous comment, Wonder Woman, is tall, beautiful, and has a humble, maternal young look to her. Lynda Carter was Flawless, and was also Miss America.
I don’t think it should be a popular actress because Lynda Carter was not that well know at the time of her casting; however she was PERFECT for the role in everyway. So it needs to be a woman 5’11″ and over in height, but one that has excellent posture, poise, and grace.. And Beauty naturally so when make-up is applied she will become amazingly beautiful. Most of the previous women mentioned aren’t natural beauties. And most mentioned are too old, to sexy or sexual, too short, and aren’t great actresses who can be convencing.

For anyone to say that Meagan Fox should play Wonder Woman have no clue who Wonder Woman is. She’s an Amazon princess. No way could the 5’4″ Fox pull of being an Amazon.
Megan Gale most definitely will be the next Wonder Women. She’s relatively unknown outside of her modeling career; similar to Linda Carter. And she’s 5’11″ with no shoes. Hope she hits the weights a bit though to give her more of a Amazon look.
Gale is the obvious choice but I would love to see a Wonder Woman costume try out by some of the top vixens in acting. 1st on my list would be Christina Hendricks.
Moon Bloodgood would also make a good Wonder Woman. She’s 5’10″ has the natural tan look going and is gorgeous. She’s 35 so she over the ideal age thing but honestly I thought she was twenty sumtin until I looked her age up.
If not Wonder Woman she should definitely be a part of the Amazon race in the movie. Personally she’s my #2 behind Megan Gale for wonder woman.
OK this would be my cast of women to play Amazons on the Island of Themyscira or Paradise Island what ever you want to call Wonder Womans home. Cara Michelle, Moon Bloodgood, Uma Thurman, Karin Rodrigues, Venus Williams, Amelia Vega, Natalia Mesa Bush, Tara Moss, Ana Ivanovic, Alice Panaikian, Jordin Sparks, Verushka von Lehndorff, Lindsey Von, Tyra Banks and Beau Garrett. Imagine crash landing on that island and youre the only man…damn even if I was a woman Id think Id be in paradise.
And I know Megan Gale is already the odds on favorite to get the part if its not already final but check out former Miss Universe Amelia Vega. I dont know if she can speak english or not but baby is gorgeous. On top of that she is 6’2″ or so with the natural tan going. So Im unofficially putting her into the mix lol.

Megan Fox is NOT a good part for the role. Wonder Woman is suppose to be a Amazon Woman. Amazon women are really tall, strong, and beautiful. Although Megan Fox is really beautiful, she doesnt fit the other parts. Linda Carter had it all. The new Wonder Woman needs to be tall, strong, and beautiful. I was thinking more along the lines of Jessica Biel but she said she wouldnt play the part. But my next choice would be Lynn Collins. What do you think?

Lucy Lawless is perfect playing Wonder Woman. She got the face, the height and the built for it. It is up to her if she wants to play Wonder Woman because she is in a TV series playing a Roman woman. Some people say Megan Fox just because they think she’s hot and I say NO WAY. Her body build is too slim to be playing Wonder Woman. Remember Wonder Woman is a Amazon. She is a warrior woman.
