Superhero remakes - they’re everywhere.
Batman. Superman. Spiderman. The Fantastic Four. Daredevil. Hulk. Catwoman. If there’s one thing that cinema audiences seem to enjoy, it’s watching people with superhuman powers save the world from stupid bald people.
Next year, a new production of Wonder Woman (DVDs) will begin shooting. But a female lead actress hasn’t been chosen yet. Everyone… well, some people… OK, just us. We’re are asking "Who will be the next Wonder Woman?"
There have been some early Wonder Woman names thrown about. Sandra
Bullock is a possible star, but original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter says
she’s too old. As is Catherine Zeta-Jones, apparently, although Carter might be
confusing her with her doddery old husband.
It’s assumed that a younger actress will take the role. Katie Holmes
keeps being linked to the role. She’s undoubtedly more high-profile
since she got together with Tom Cruise, but anyone who watched her
cack-handedly dribble her way through her tiny role in Batman Begins
might have been put off somewhat.
The film is being directed by Buffy The Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon, so we can’t
discount Sarah Michelle Geller. Or that ginger girl. Or one of the
others.

I’ve heard that Joss wants to cast Morena Baccarin, Inara from Firefly and Serenity. I’m pretty sure he hinted at it a few times in the Serenity DVD extras as well.

I would like for the actress to play Wonder Woman to be in her early twenties.
I agree that Sandra Bullock and Catherine Zeta Jones are too old to play Wonder Woman unless they were made five to ten years ago. Sandra is at least forty-one years old. Catherine Zeta Jones is about thirty-eight years old.

i would recommend Kristin Kreuk of smallville to play the role, she`s perfect except for some height issues but with technology, they can make her taller on screen. What do you think fans?

Taylor Cole is the 21st Century Wonder Woman. She’s got it all: looks (strongly resembles a young Lynda Carter), regalness (has the sophistication of a princess), and physicality (former Junior Olypmian). Not to mention she can act and is a relative unknown actress in her early 20’s which is something Joss Whedon has said he is probably going to look for when casting the lead role.

If you’re going to have a smaller Wonderwoman (like Debra Winger), Jennifer Garner would be an excellent choice. To get a Wonderwoman that would compete with Lynda Carter, the only actress to go with would be Catherine Bell.

I think Anne Hathaway, Angelina Jolie, or Keira Knightly are perfect for the role with their long dark hair and beautiful faces, they are full of energy.
I don’t find it amusing to let older actresses play the role and others are so muscular, producers should chose someone Fresh and Beautiful for the role.

Whoever they pick for the role will have to look Better or just as Beautiful as Lynda Carter. There is No American actress today that i can think of that will do what Ms.Carter did for Wonder Woman. Accept maybe Catherine -Zeta -Jones, But she’s too old. Angelina Jolie is a favorite pick (not mine). She’s too regal. Yes, she was good in ”TOMB RAIDER” and MR. AND MRS. SMITH,but I don’t see her playing Wonder Woman. She could be the Amazon that loses to Diana in the ”BULLETS and BRACELETS” contest, but not the lead. Definately not KATIE HOLMES. Maybe ”WONDER GIRL”. Lynda carter said it best. It should be an unknown actress.

I think it should be kate beckinsale , why i think she would be perfect is she has black/brown hair like linda carter , she is physical in shape for the role and she is british which would give her character more of a flare. In a few words she has the brains,the body and personality to be wonderful forthe part.

I couldn’t care less who wears the WW garb for as long as they really aren’t considering Priyanka Chopra or any other Indian actress for the role. Please, who ever thought of relating Greek accent to Indian? Sure, Priyanka’s pretty and all but still, can anyone imagine an Indian taking on the garb? Besides, with Joss Whedon directing and with all his comments about WW, I personally feel the movie isn’t worthy looking forward to. No star-spangled panties, no famous rogue to go up against and as he said, WW will not fly on her own accord though she’s been doing so for the last 19 years with the speed of the messenger God Hermes. I just hope Whedon reads more on WW’s history before screwing her up on the big screen with his half-wit ideas….

I would have to say, hands down, Nadia Bjorlin. If you don’t know who she is, I suggest you google her right now. She was an actress on Days of Our Lives and has appeared in a bathing suit on at leat one occasion. She has the perfect body, fem, but powerful. There is a pic floating around somewhere on the net of her in the wonder woman costume, and she looks great. She has those eyes that just command attention, much like that of lynda carter. The only thing I am afraid of about the movie is that it will be to Matrix like. I want the fight scenes to be fight scenes, not stuff flying around slow, the whole scene pausing and changing angles and stuff like that. Since Joss Is doing the movie, maybe it will be more like a fight out of Buffy, which were actually pretty cool, buffy kicked major butt and so does wonder woman.

I think that Lucy Lawless would be perfect. She has played an amazon warrior before and she would be great as WW. Why should wonder woman be so young? If anything then they should call her Wonder Girl. So hopefully they get someone mature enough to play the role.

I was a great fan of Wonder Woman during the late 70’s. I think a new comer someone “fresh” will be good to play the role of this super hero goddess. Toby Macguire made agood impact as the new Spiderman. I hope the producers of this new upcoming film will make the right choice. Probably someone who’s really beautiful and has a well built but not muscular body, just like Linda Carter.

Nadia Bjorlin is the ideal choice for Wonder Women. She is an excellent actress, beautiful, talented with the fugure for the part. The look as super women fits her and the ability to do a great job for this part was made for her!!! a unknown is needed to propel her career and many will be happy if she gets this part , she deserves it.

There is a lot that people are missing about the statue of Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman is timeless, there is no category of age that is associated with her beauty. If you look at Lynda Carter, she was timeless, her amazon beauty is what won her over, age had absolutely nothing to dowith it. For that reason alone Katherine Zeta Jones would surely fit the part. If you look at her examples of body tone, she’s one of those Elizabeth Taylors, class, atheletic, and a great actress. Age is the furthest thing from your mind. If you leave age behind and you were told that the part is between three actresses, Catherine, Sandra, and Michelle who is the obvious choice of timeless beauty. Only one. Catherine…believe me, when the curtain goes up, no one is going to give a damn about age, it’s about the character and how well she brings Wonder Woman to life.

Well I think that Sandra Bullock well she played the bionic girl in the showdown with the million dollar man steve austin and bionic woman. So to me its only fair that she doesn’t play wonder woman she should play the next bionic woman. The best solution would be that Linda Carter should be in the movie as the real wonder woman but a mother with steve as her husband but linda should have a daughter who should play the next wonder woman that will take Linda’s place it should be none other than the girl that played Days of our Lives as Cloe. She is the perfect wonder woman she wears the glasses and she does look like Linda Carter the movie should betray Linda Carter and her husband steve as parents but the daughter should look like her mother and father. It only makes sense to have Linda in the movie as the orignial but the daughter will take her place but at the end mother and daughter run on the screen as both wonder women at the end of the movie. Mother and daughter fighting side by side is great! The audience would love to see the orginial and the new wonder woman fighting side by side. People love the originals. Please if the director could see what I wrote on this message it only makes since. Ask yourself a question would it be a good movie to have the old wonder woman and new young daughter portray as the one who will take over? Make since to me. If you don’t like my answer try having the original Linda Carter as the mother but Shania Twain as the daughter you have to match the orginial that looks like or is an exact match to the orginial a younger wonder woman Cloe from Days of our Lives if not Shania Twain as an older daughter. If not Charmisa Carpenter or Catherine Zeta Jones. Yes! Younger Days of our Lives Cloe or Passions Jessica. Now both kind of resemble Linda Carter. Katie Homles I don’t think so she does not resemble Linda try another these girls are a good match and by the way Katie has stared in so many films give someone else a chance to come out in Hollywood someone different instead of the same old people playing parts that are not meant for them. For once I really want to see someone else different given a chance to play a role that should be played by someone different instead of the hot movie industry. There is good talent in those you may not see in different areas of the industry. Try different people for a change. Batman the first did good why because it was different but the right people playing the right parts that is why it got best movie of the year. Look at that and try to listen to or look out for different people playing different good parts to a movie.

Angelina Jolie should be the next wonder woman. She is strong. Very pretty stricking features. She has that glow that wonder woman should have. She has the strenght, just look at her roles on screen and off screen. She has natural features. I have seen her with dark hair and she can pull this role off. Her eyes are the right color. I think she is youthful enough to still play the role. She would be perfect for this. The more I look at her picks and some of her roles, I think she should be cast for this. Think about it, and get the word to Joss.

The other choice for Wonder Woman is Nadia Bjorlin. She also has that fresh timeless look. She has the features for the natural features for the role. She is 5′8 the same as Linda Carter. She seems to be of good moral charater. I have seen her on Days and I would say she could go from the Diana Prince with glasses to the Amazon Princess in a heart beat. Also I just learnt that her name is an anagram for Diana (That means if you change the letters around in Nadia you get Diana.) I think that could be a pretty telling sign.
She has the looks, the build, but there is a natural sweetness, and goodness that stays with you the same way Linda Carter’s did. I also think as an actress she has the interest in the role and the longevity to play the part.
She is also mature enough now where she could actually be considered for the role of Wonder Woman. Plus there is a picture of her in the Wonder Woman outfit and it seems to go very well. I think she will leave the same feel and impression that for this generation that Wonder Woman has for the last couple of generations.

All I know is it’s a really important role, and the choice has to be someone lovable, but beautiful and a role model. They also have to be able to portray a strenght of character that others can look up to.

I don’t think Bullock is too old, but for me there’s no other WW than Lucy Lawless, she’s just perfect for the role, I can’t see any other. Most girls/women I’ve seen in the many lists are far too short or too.. something, ya know, they just don’t fit at all. Lucy is just perfect, she IS wonder woman.

Megan fox has a lot of similarities with the original wonder woman, they can even play mother and daughter, just look at the eyes. Kate Beckinsale also will be a good choice with all the action movies she starred in, it’s obvious she can give justice to the role. People, please don’t just base your opinions on the looks alone, otherwise, the wonder woman will be sooooo lame. Can you imagine Katie Holmes kicking and throwing punches? She can’t even play the role of a superhero’s lady well, she looks like she’s going to faint everytime there’s a fight scene. She can just continue playing the “role” of wife to Tom and mother to Suri. No offense meant, though, this is no anti-katie-for-wonder-woman campaign. Angelina Jolie can also play the role - but that doesn’t mean i like her, cause i don’t!

i really loved watching linda carter as wonder woman when i was young. i did not have any good female role models when i was little, so wonder woman and isis were a big hit for me. i cant see any of the actresses previosly mentioned as ww. erica durance from smallville looks tall and has a great build, she would do the ww uniform justice. just give her the right color hair and voila! she has already had her share of but kickin scenes in smallville and i think she would rock! linda carter should definately play the queen of the amazons!!!

Taylor Cole, Cobie Smulders, size, eye color, and beauty perfect, should be one of them or a complete newcomer from greek ascendent like Melina Kanakaredes´s young sister or something like that, in order to keep the fidelity to the chracter itself. Another thing in favor of Taylor Cole, besides his amazing beauty is the fact that she is athletic, she was on the Junior Olympics volleyball team for her high school, and just like Lynda carter can perform his own stunts. Meanwhile Cobie Smulders is just perfect for the role, she fullfill any requirement.

I think Catherine Zeta-Jones would make a great wonder woman. I mean to me she is very beautiful and has a good career going.
