Jack Black makes another idiot appearance in this prehistoric tale of two hunter-gatherers who can’t bring home the goods.
Expelled from their tribe, Black and Superbad‘s Michael Cera bring Americana back to 1 AD and work hard to make the dumbest period comedy in two millenia. Zed, played by Black, is forced to leave after eating from the tree of good and evil and is followed by his only friend, Oh, the village cretin.
They run into Cain and Abel, get stoned by children and find that their tribe has been sold into slavery. To get them back they’ll have to slip into bed with Romans and come up with a cunning plan.
What would happen if everyone in history was an American? See it here and weep as you think on this potential travesty. Worth a laugh or two, but there’s a feeling that Jack Black is a quantity not quality kind of comedian. Best suited to the type of cretin who enjoys the toilet bowl humour of Superbad and Nacho Libre.

You just made me want to see this film, I love American takes on world history, they’re so incisive
