Prog is, and will always remain, a dirty word. And it’s also a word used a lot when people try and describe The Mystery Jets. Thing is, though, they’re wrong.

Think of prog and you think of nine-hour synth solos within songs about medieval pixies. But The Mystery Jets are far too scruffily melodic to fall into that trap, judging by their spiffy new single Alas Agnes - out on Monday.
