Here's something odd that we never thought we'd be telling you – if you open today's Independent to the centre pages, there's a big list called 'The Real Media Hotlist'. Leona Lewis is on it. Ant & Dec are on it. Sir Alan Sugar is on it.
And we're on it too.
Christ alone knows how – or why – we got there, but we did. Anyway, this is where you come in – this list is over 200 names long, and this week it's being whittled down to 100 with an online vote. The 100 with the most votes become part of the 'Hospital Club 100' and we all get silver latex outfits and a superpower of our choice and all girls instantly find us 15% sexier. Or something. Actually the details are a little vague. But we still want in, damnit.
So – you guessed it – can you vote for us, please? We're in the 'Journalism' section. You don't have to join up to anything, and you get to vote for other people as well. We suggest you also pick Leona Lewis. Because this clearly isn't entertainingly weird enough for us as it is.

Altho maybe it wasn’t a mistake. What with the emphy and all, any wino can prolly croak out a better tune right now.

The people were asked to pick the British creative figures they thought were most inspirational. Here’s how they voted …
The inaugural The Hospital Club 100 was launched in June this year in association with The Independent Media Weekly. It’s a search for the authentic stars of Britain’s creative industries. Unlike other power lists, the nominations weren’t compiled using a coterie of establishment types, but through a democratic process. Essentially anyone working in the creative industries has been able to go to The Hospital Club’s website and vote. Some results proved surprising, it seems that even those at the cutting edge regard fame and celebrity as influential currency. We had an overwhelming response to the shortlist – people voted in their tens of thousands. Due to the democratic process, the results were likely to be controversial. These people are not necessarily power brokers, they are creative leaders who are seen as inspirational figures. So, for the first time, you see establishment figures alongside young and emerging talent.

Despite global fascination, the graffiti artist remains anonymous – although he hosts his own ‘The Cans Festival’ under Waterloo station
2. Mark Ronson
Musician. The triple Grammy- winner and young producer of the moment has collaborated with Amy Winehouse, Radiohead and many others

Film artist. Has collaborated with the Pet Shop Boys and the Buzzcocks.
Rumour has it she has been asked by the Pope to do something nice for the Vatican.

Author. Was Shortlisted yet again for a Booker last year with ‘On Chesil Beach’. The film adaptation of ‘Atonement’ also enhanced his profile
14. Edgar Wright
Film director. Hit it big with ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and then ‘Hot Fuzz’. Wright’s latest focus of interest is in bringing the Marvel comic hero ‘Ant-Man’ to life

Musicians. The Indie band of the moment, their album ‘We Started Nothing’ went straight to No 1. Their single ‘That’s Not My Name’ went the same way
