Day three of the British Soap Award nominations, brought to you by hecklerspray and Betfair.com.
Today we’re looking at Villain Of The Year. Of all the characters in all the soaps, who is the nastiest, the cruellest, the most downright evil of them all?
It’s so hard to tell these days. Back when we were young, all villains has curly black moustaches and companies that started with the letter ‘Z’. Happy days…
The nominees are:
Sasha Behar – played a raving looney psycho in Coronation Street. Crimes – creating a love triangle, setting fire to some shops etc. Current odds – 2/7
Bill Ward – plays the abusive builder in Coronation Street. Crimes – being psychologically abusive to his fat barmaid girlfriend. Current odds – 7/5
Leslie Grantham – played Dirty Old Den in Eastenders. Crimes – sort of sleeping about a bit, then getting killed. Current odds – 6/4
Lorraine Chase – Fat Alan’s daughter in Emmerdale. Crimes – trying to get her filthy hands on the family business. Current odds – 7/5
Patsy Kensit – more or less plays a nastier version of herself in Emmerdale, only with fewer rockstar husbands. Crimes – being a ’super-bitch’. Current odds – 7/5
Tracy-Ann Oberman – played Dirty Old Den’s wife in Eastenders. Crimes – only bloody killing Dirty Old Den. Current odds – 21/5
Kate Ford – the Barlow with the odd teeth in Coronation Street. Crimes – just being generally bitchy. Current odds – 21-5
Jeff Hordley – the Liam-alike in Emmerdale. Crimes – not sure. Isn’t looking like Liam Gallagher enough? Current odds – 21/5
As usual, loads of other nominees too, mainly actors from the soap operas that nobody really watches, like Hollyoaks and Doctors. But remember, they have feelings too.
Jump over to Betfair.com for the full list, found under ’special bets’, and whack a few quid on your favourite. Or we’ll send round the real villains. The ones with curly black moustaches.
