Unsurprising News Of The Day – Gun N’ Roses Album Delayed Again

Now sit down, grab a paper bag if you need it and take several deep breaths; hecklerspray is the messenger of bad news today - the new, decade in the waiting, Guns N' Roses album Chinese Democracy has unsurprisingly been pushed back to some undecided point in time again. Probably 2036. 

So what’s the reason this time? Well, to be quite honest, we don’t really care much anymore. It's here today in fact that hecklerspray launches its own band Guns and Pansies. The band - made up entirely of hecklerspray staff - aims to write,  record and release two albums on the same day, replace Shawn with some bloke who wears a KFC bucket on his head, split up, get back together, throw hissy fits, make outrageously stupid demands and tour our as yet unnamed albums before Guns N' Roses release Chinese Democracy. We think we can do it. 

In the decade and a bit that we’ve been waiting for Axl Rose to release Chinese Democracy - something which we all know will actually be disappointingly shit - we have been treated to all sorts of crazy behaviour from the one-time cool daddy of eighties/ nineties glam hair mullet-sporting rock.  

Because he’s such a megastar, the Guns N' Roses frontman kicked The Eagles Of Death Metal off an American tour because he thought they were shit, got so desperate for food that he had a bite of a Swedish security guards leg and had a fight with a random fashion designer in a nightclub. And Axl constantly made promises to everyone that Chinese Democracy would be out before the end of 2006. And when that happened, a release date of next month was set. But apparently not. 

A post on the official Guns N' Roses official website made the state of affairs no more clearer by stating:

"After some delays and scheduling difficulties, things appear to be moving along."

So with no release date set, hecklerspray is proud to announce our Chinese Democracy competition. In the comments box below, feel free to punt your best guess at when Guns N' Roses will eventually stop wanking around and release Chinese Democracy once and for all. But what is the prize, we hear you scream? Well because this is all about Guns N' Roses, the prize will be some inflated old disappointing shit that we're going to spend over a decade obsessively titting about with until everyone loses interest in it completely.

So get your thinking caps on and - who knows - you could be the lucky, or unlucky, winner of the Chinese Democracy competition. 10 September 2007 is our first guess…
