The Golden Globe nominations were announced yesterday, and needless to say, I was not impressed. Sure, a lot of cool and deserving people got nominated, but one key person was snubbed and that was Toni Collette.
This year, Toni Collette starred in Hereditary, a horror movie that is also one of the best reviewed movies of the year. Critics called it the new The Exorcist, and it was fucking PHENOMENAL. But what made the movie was just how fucking good Toni Collette was in it.
Listen, I could spend this entire blog shit-talking the Golden Globes for ignoring Toni’s otherworldly excellent performance, but I’ll save that for today’s HecklerSpray Advent. For now, here are the people who DID get nominated for shit (heads up, I’m only blogging about the big movie nominations, because this shit is exhausting to type out and my ghetto computer won’t let me fucking copy/paste, ok?):

Welp, there you have it. Some stuff I’m happy about, some I’m indifferent. For the most part, these are just a lot of movies I wanted to see but didn’t get around to because I had my second kid this year. I think The Favourite looks great and I really wanted to see BlacKkKlansman. Actually did see Black Panther, it was great. Maybe if I find a minute I can actually watch some of these movies so I can actually weigh in rather than flipping out that the movies I DID see didn’t get nominated. Meh.
