I totally agree with Eugene Tooms… course I was like 7 when I saw Squeeze, but it scared the heck out of me. I closed the vents all over my house everytime I entered a room until I was 15. Especially in the bathroom. It drove my parents nuts. It was their fault for letting me see such a scary episode though. At 15 I finally saw Tooms, and that helped me realize it was just a tv show. But that guy reeeeeallly freaked me out. Still does sometimes when it’s really dark out. ^_-

I remember hauling ass back to my apt at college on sunday’s to make it for the x-files. It was about a 2hr drive from my parents place. One time I left late so i took a small portable TV with me for the ride so I could watch on the drive home. Yah, I was dedicated.

The flukeman episode is both terrifying and disgusssssssssstiiinnggggg!
I saw the “home” episode the 1 time it ran in the States. I too remember X Files under blankets, with a loved one, on Sunday’s. I will say that “home” is 100% offputing.

We can squabble all day on number 2 through 10, but a whole-hearted YES for Tooms at number One. The guy still creeps me out on Lost.

Overall I like your picks better, but I have to agree with YBNBY on Flukeman. Disappointed that neither of you picked the Fungus Humongous from “Field Trip.” That aired 10 years ago and still whenever the topic of fungus comes up I turn to whoever I’m talking to and say, “Mulder what if we’re in a fungus right now?!?” They usually don’t get it..
