Creased or Folded? hecklerspray Tells You the Way it is

August 4th, 2012 By Chris Laverty

This week?s filthy likes and dislikes.

Folded:

  • Scott Mills (annoying as you like on the radio, but fair play to him for making that difficult The World’s Worst Place to Be Gay? programme. Slapped repeatedly with a chicken for goodness sake)
  • National Express? profits are up nearly 40% (great news for them, though undoubtedly means we are all too poor and undignified to get the train)
  • Colin Firth not winning Best Actor at the Academy Awards (c?mon let's get behind this idea and see if the world really does end)

Blu-ray Review – The Social Network

August 5th, 2012 By David Scarborough

The internet is full of dicks (hecklerspray excluded, of course). Just take a look around: there's that kid over there, blogging about his pathetic existence; that tweeting celebrity, moaning about their insufferable riches; and what about Justin Bieber? Ergh.

The internet is a horrible cesspit of words and pictures, never more aptly demonstrated than in social hub Facebook.

It's also appropriate then that the story behind the invention of the 21st Century?s most dominating stalker tool, The Social Network, is as full of nauseating idiots as its millions of inhabitants.

Hurray! The Social Network Trailer Is Here! Geeks And The Internetlol!

October 8th, 2010 By Mof Gimmers

The good people of Americaland have decided that it’s worth watching The Social Network. This weekend it topped the box office charts. Is it any good? The consensus seems to be ‘who cares? It’s got Justin Timberlake in it.’

And how weird is it that someone has decided to make a film about something so current? It’s like Justin Bieber releasing an autobiography. Neither of these things, sadly, have died yet.

Anyway, there’s a trailer of the film which you can watch, which is embedded further into this article. Yep. You’ve guess it. This is the ‘filler’ bit of the article which we write so the formatting doesn’t go weird.

Weekend Box Office: People Like Watching Films About Facebook

October 4th, 2010 By Mof Gimmers

By God the cinema looks like a grim place to be at the moment. There’s a full-on fervour for the type of film that was churned out in the ’80s. Yep. The yuppies are back and there’s movies being made about them.

Last weekend, one of the original highflyers returned and crash landed at the top spot. Gordon Gekko from Wall Street arrive with the sequel and now, well, we’ve got the newest kind of go-getter with Yupster, Mark Zuckerberg.

Unfathomably, someone saw fit to make a film about him and Facebook. Yes. A film about a bloody website.

Creased or Folded? hecklerspray Tells You the Way it is

August 4th, 2012 By Chris Laverty

Thumbs up and thumbs down.

Folded:

  • This headline (so spot on it hurts)
  • Cricket (does anybody know we're actually good at this?)
  • This trailer for The Social Network (which does have Justin Timberlake in it, but is directed by David Fincher and written by Aaron Sorkin)
  • No more talking about sport for a bit (back to the weather then)
  • Glastonbury (more upsettingly poor each year, but at least there was some live music on telly for once)

Creased:

  • Leather sofas in summer (like sitting on a spit roast)
