A Buffy Reboot is Happening and I Am NOT Here For It

July 23rd, 2018 By Krysta Fitzpatrick

There is something very important you should know about me: no two televisions shows have defined my existence and shaped me as a person quite like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Golden Girls. IMHO, they’re two of the most perfectly made television shows in existence.

Am I a huge, die hard Buffy fan? Yes. Does that mean I’d love to see more Buffy? Meh, not really. The seasons the show had were amazing and the finale was legitimate television perfection. So, when I read that they were rebooting Buffy, well….I think you can imagine how I felt about it.

Supergirl Casts TV’s First Transgender Superhero

July 23rd, 2018 By Krysta Fitzpatrick

Just a couple of weeks ago, Scarlett Johannsson stepped down from her role in “Rub and Tug” because she realized her playing a trans man was in poor taste (not unlike when she played an Asian woman, but I digress). I wasn’t surprised that Scarlett got cast in the first place, because, let’s be real, actual trans people are heavily under-represented in the film industry and often don’t even get casted to play actual trans people.

However, we’re starting to see that change. At San Diego’s Comic-Con this past weekend, it was confirmed that 21-year-old trans activist and actress, Nicole Maines, would be joining the fourth season of CW’s Supergirl.

Beyonce and Jay-Z Drop Joint Album

June 17th, 2018 By Krysta Fitzpatrick

I know this happened yesterday, but I was mega exhausted when it happened, so just let me live. Anyway, the biggest power couple that the music industry will ever see, Jay-Z and Beyonce, pulled a total Jay-Z and Beyonce by dropping a surprise joint album, thus completing their trilogy of growth.

In 2016, Beyonce dropped Lemonade, talking about her personal experiences with her relationship with Jay. In 2017, Jay dropped 4:44 to discuss his side of their relationship, now in 2018, they dropped Everything is Love, their joint album to let us know how they’re all good now.

HecklerSpray Advent Day 19: The Room Goes Mainstream

December 20th, 2017 By Krysta Fitzpatrick

I have been OBSESSED with the movie “The Room” for 7 or 8 years now. Why, you ask? To put it bluntly, it is hands down the most laughably bad film of all fucking time. I mean, it is INFAMOUSLY bad. So infamously bad, a really great film got made about just how bad it was. And, of course, James Franco is behind all this.

While “The Room” is known as one of the most laughably bad movies of all time and actually has a cult-following based solely on how fucking bad it is, it’s actually gone mainstream this year thanks to James Franco’s film “The Disaster Artist.”

My Horror Movie Golden Globe Predictions Came True!

December 11th, 2017 By Krysta Fitzpatrick

Remember just a few days ago when I made the HecklerSpray advent of the day a tribute to awesome horror movies of 2017 and said you’d definitely see Get Out and The Shape of Water get nominated for Golden Globes? Well, guess who was right?!

The Golden Globe nominations came out today and there are a fuck ton of movies I’ve never heard of, lots of shows I have heard of (my mom’s favorite “drinking wine alone” show, Big Little Lies, got nominated a bunch), and, SHOCKER, no nominations for Kevin Spacey. Let’s take a look at the nominees! (With my commentary, as per usual)

HecklerSpray Advent Day 2: Kes$ha’s Comeback

December 2nd, 2017 By Krysta Fitzpatrick

It was a huge year for women triumphing over some sleazy fucking dudes in the industry who have been shitty and abusive, and no one’s triumph shone brighter than Kes$ha’s.

After years of being tied up in legal battles with creepy producer Dr. Luke, Ke$ha FINALLY returned to the radio with her hit single “Praying” which is my fucking JAM.

Kevin Spacey Tries to Play the Gay Card for Being a Perv

October 30th, 2017 By Krysta Fitzpatrick

Like sands through the hour glass, so fall the infamous perverts of Hollywood. Ever since Harvey Weinstein got outed for being half pig/rapist goblin, the entertainment industry has decided it is fucking OVER powerful men getting away with being sexual predators and is calling everyone and their creepy dad out. Next up on Hollywood’s burn book: Kevin Spacey.

Actor Anthony Rapp has accused Spacey of making pretty aggressive drunken sexual advances towards him when he was only 14-years-old and Spacey was 26 back in 1986. Spacey took the the internet to offer up what started as a decent enough apology, but then turned into him coming out (as if we didn’t know) in the worst way possible.

Taylor Swift’s New Music Really Sucks, Hey?

Before you Swifties come at me and call me a biased bitch who is just dissing Taylor Swift’s new music because I think she is a disgusting person, I’ll have you know that, musically speaking, I typically enjoy Taylor Swift. I think all her previous albums have been SUPER listenable and enjoyable and physically bought a copy of 1989, so you can throw that biased bullshit aside, thankyouverymuch.

Unlike Most Awards Shows Lately, The Emmys Didn’t Suck

September 18th, 2017 By Krysta Fitzpatrick

I would like to throw in a strong disclaimer before I continue and let you all know that I didn’t actually watch the Emmys last night because I was sick af and went to bed at 6:30pm. HOWEVER, I spent the majority of today day watching clip highlights which makes me just as qualified to talk about the show as I am with any of the other shit I write about.

Zero Pre-Teen Gang Bangs Occur: Krysta’s Review of “It”

September 10th, 2017 By Krysta Fitzpatrick

I have been a HUGE Stephen King fan for twenty years and was naturally beyond excited when I found out that his classic novel (and my favourite of his novels) It was getting made into a big budget R-rated movie.

It was obviously already done before with the legendary 1990 made-for-tv movie, but given that it was made for tv, a lot of the more gruesome shit had to be left out. So when I found out it was being made into an R-rated movie for theatres, my big question was: will they include the gang bang between the 7 main 11-year-olds?
