Okay, we?ll take it upon ourselves to blow out the candle and the cake, but it genuinely is his birthday today. On that tedious notion, we?ll therefore prod our filthy mitts and ears over his Mercury award winning album, New Forms.

With just about anything that wins a major award, the public immediately decided it was a worthy record to win. Now, we shouldn?t judge people based their record collection, but we imagine awkward conversation happening trendy types who bought the album of the back of the award and weren't sure what to say.

This was a major win for drum & bass and dance music as a whole as it was released in ’97, an era where Britpop was still refusing to go away and die.
