Britney Spears’ ‘Til The End Of The World’ Leaked And It Is Refreshingly Dumb

Britney Spears, when she gets her finger out, is a fine fine fine pop star. Sadly, she’d had a clutch of tracks in recent years which haven’t quite hit the spot.

That said, she averages around one great single per album (sometimes more, granted) which left us wondering if this new long-player of hers, Femme Fatale, was going to be a bit of a damp squib.

Would You Hold It Against Me was something of a let down, despite seemingly having all the correct components to be a decent record. The video was pretty lame too. However, her next single, Til The End Of The World has been leaked and it sounds like a corker!

Britney Spears released her Hold It Against Me music video last week and surprised no one when it contained more product placements that choreography.

The dance moves were so lacking and lackluster that the sad/ glassy-eyed Britney’s two-stepping had to be disguised with obnoxiously-fast editing.

The entire introduction of the video was nothing but the singer holding a number of products right up to the lens. With Britney presumably being muted so we couldn’t hear, ‘Can you see it? Make sure the brand names don’t go all blurry.’

Britney Spears is making her millionth ‘comeback’, which is certain to make most of the world shrug and get on with its day, leaving those mentalist, fervent Britney devotees to foam at the mouth and hurried try to disembowel anyone who dare offer any criticism against their tragic heroine.

And of course, there’s lot to take shots at. Her new single, ‘Hold It Against Me’ sounds like a dancefloor smash (and will no doubt sell well), but there’s something missing. It doesn’t have the magic of Spears at her best.

So too the promotional video for the track, which sees Britney looking toward GaGa for inspiration. There’s a feeling that, because someone’s been around longer, they couldn’t possibly copy anyone younger than them… which of course, is balls. Spears is in the middle of a pop mid-life crisis.

Kanye West has flung a fair amount of shit while in the public eye. No-one will let him forget his stroppy little tirade when he got all up in Taylor Swift’s face (thereby provoking one of the lamest beefs in pop history).

And lately, Kanye’s twitter account has been a rich source of, well, nonsense. He’s waxed lyrical about being wounded and hurt and pretty much anything else that pops into his funny little brain.

And people have been dragging him over hot coals after he said that he’d allowed Britney Spears to go to number one in the Billboard chart.

Britney Spears, should you need reminding, is a singer. You might think that she’s a professional redneck or a hired crackpot, but really, she earns her money as a singer and prancer. When Britney is good, she’s very, very good (hello ‘Slave 4 U’ and ‘Toxic’).

However, when she’s average, she’s depressing.

And the world is aflutter with the leaked sounds of her new single, ‘Hold It Against Me’ which is part saucy postcard and sighing dancefloor aimed, dead-stare pop. It will probably be massive as well, showing that we don’t know a thing about anything. Of course, we have a clip of it over the jump.
