There are lots of lost civilizations out there – the most famous being Atlantis. If you care to get Biblical you also have the city of Enoch, and if you care to get fantastical you’ve got El Dorado. Detroit will probably be added to that list sometime in the next decade. Probably not next to El Dorado, though. Common sense tells us that Detroit will more likely be remembered for it’s 100% plywood inner city than anything having to do with gold.

The Lost City Z is one we’ve never previously heard of – but it’s probably taken the lives of more explorers than any of the others, and by that we mean at least 5 or 6.

In 1920 Brazil, buried deep in the national library in Rio de Janeiro, an old, yellowed piece of paper told of a discovery that had taken place some 200 years earlier.The paper was ragged – and partially eaten by insects. It’s been translated multiple times throughout the years, but those translations are imperfect due to missing words or missing parts of words.

The remaining text seemed to tell of a lost city discovered almost accidentally – and reads in part:

“We grew weary and intended to retrace our steps, the next day, when it came to pass that one of our negroes, gathering dried sticks, saw a white deer (hum veado branco), and, by that accident, as it fled away, he discovered a road between two sierras, that appeared to have been made by man and not the work of Nature. We were made joyful by this discovery and we started to ascend the road, but found a great boulder that had fallen and broken all to pieces at a spot where, we judged, a paved way (calçada) had been violently upheaved in some far-off day. We spent a good three hours in the ascent of that ancient road, being fascinated by the crystals, at which we marvelled, as they blazed and scintillated in many flashing colours from the rocks. On the summit of the pass through the mountain, we came to a halt.

“Thence, spread out before our eyes, we saw in the open plain (campo raso) greater spectacles (demonstrações) for our vision of admiration and wonder. At the distance of about a league, as we judged, we saw a great city (povoação grande), and we estimated, by the extent and sight of it, that it must be some city of the court of Brazil…”

A man named Colonel Percy Fawcett eventually learned of this old discovery – and he called it the Lost City Z. He’d been a surveyor in the area for three years, meaning of course that he’d done quite a bit of tromping around the Brazilian outback. This experience, coupled with geographic clues laid out in the old parchment, made him think he knew exactly the area where the previous explorers had been.

As explained on UFOFreeParanormal.com:

“He thought he knew the location of the aforementioned lost city, which he called Z, from other sources he wouldn’t give. So later that year, he set off on a journey which ended up being stopped prematurely by his traveling companions, who where, bluntly, too scared to go any further.

“In 1925, Fawcett decided he would try again to reach Z, financed by the Royal Geographical Society and newspaper companies interested to publish his story. April 20th, he set out for the lost city and brought along his son, a friend of his son’s, and two Indians, following a route he did not tell to anyone.”

Sounds pretty crazy right? Fawcett had a lot of adventures there in the area – both before and during this trip. He’d wrestle guns out of people’s hands, dodge Indian arrows – he even found a traveling companion who’d gone off to inspect a road dead with 40-plus arrows in his body. It’s real Indiana Jones types stuff.

Fawcett eventually sent his wife a letter, carried back by two guides he felt had become unnecessary. UnMuseum.org has some of theletter’s details:

“On May 29th, 1925, a message was sent from Fawcett to his wife, indicating that they were ready to enter unexplored territory. The three were sending back the assistants that had helped them to this point and were ready to go on by themselves. Fawcett told his wife “You need have no fear of failure…” It was the last anyone ever heard of the expedition. They disappeared into the jungle never to be seen again.”

And so begins another mystery – what happened to Percy Fawcett? Some say he and his companions were slaughtered by Indians. Others say he found the old city and remained there forever. Still others believe that Fawcett and/or his companions are genetically behind a white-skinned, blue eyed Indian tribe.

A movie is being made about the Lost City of Z – it almost starred Brad Pitt. And since Fawcett’s disappearance various groups have tried to retrace his steps. Some, like the original explorer, were never heard from again. As recently as 1996 a would be Fawcett-finding party was apprehended by local Indians, and had tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment confiscated.

It seems that whatever happened to Fawcett died with him. We think he probably got sucked into another dimension while he was trying to return the crystal skull and demanded to know everything.

But that’s just our gut feeling.

Thoughts of people flying aren’t so strange today. We’ve seen video of big bulky jet packs carrying people all sorts of places through the air – like from a prison on Arrested Development. As we understand it, that show was a documentary, and everything we saw there really happened.

What’s stranger, though, is that multiple people swear up and down they saw people fly without the aid of a device. That’s probably because human/bird hybrids don’t need mechanics to soar through the air.

Ah Brazil – the sleeping giant. It’s a huge land packed full of natural resources and crooked politicians that take public road-money and turn it into a personal in-house jacuzzi for their expensive girlfriends to steam in.

It’s also home to some crazy paranormal incidents – video footage of an alien at the side of a road with its head on fire, for instance. We’re not talking about that today though – no.

Today we’re talking about a strange sighting that took place in the fifties. A Brazilian couple was out for a walk who-knows-where, when they saw the shadow of some gigantic birds pass by over head. We’ll let Paranormal.About.com tell you the rest:

“In the early 1950s, a couple was taking an evening stroll near their home by the sea at Pelotas, Brazil. When two fast-moving shadows crossed their path, they looked up to see what they at first thought were two enormous birds flying about 30 feet above the ground. It was soon evident to the couple that these were not birds at all when the two flying creatures descended vertically and landed not far away. It was then clear that they looked like men, standing about six feet tall. Discovering they were being watched by the couple, the two “birdmen” squatted close to the ground, as if trying to hide. The female half of the couple convinced her husband to leave – and quickly.”

Obviously, there’s really not a lot of detail in there. We scoured the internet for more, but none seemed available – at least for that sighting. Here’s a similar one though – it happened in England. According to Shadowlands.net:

“In the 1970′s a silvery feathered birdman was observed by people in the Mawnan in Cornwall, England.  The birdman was said to have pincers as feet, reddish eyes and a large mouth.  Two sisters watched it fly over a church in 1976.  In July of the same year there were more sightings of the creature both on the ground and in the sky. In June through August of 1978 there were additional sightings in the area of the church in Mawnan.”

See that? That one was in England – and England is a first world country. You can’t deny a first world country, can you?

Well maybe you can. But for the sake of this article we don’t want to.

It has long been foretold that Naomi Campbell’s blood would spill forth upon the land, creeping into every house, every street and every unfortunate gaping mouth that happens to be astounded by the sight of such a big red tidal wave.

In recent years theologians have stated that all the signs are in place, and that the apocalyptic super-model’s body explosion would happen any day now. We’re still waiting.

Let’s hope it doesn’t happen anytime soon either – because as it stands right now her blood isn’t even good enough to save under-weight mosquito children. Well we think that’s how it stands.

We’ve actually only read headlines on the matter.

When Naomi Campbell’s temper flared on an airline and she spit on Caucasian police officers while shouting vile, vile racist remarks at them, it wasn’t her fault. She’s got bad blood, you see. And when you have bad blood then your blood-bubbles can only carry bad messages to your brain. That’s what happened to her, though the popular media is slow to admit this.

We now know she’s got bad blood though, because several Brazilian doctors just told her so. And they know because the bones they rolled landed that way. E! Online gets specific:

“Campbell arrived at the city’s HemoRio medical center on Tuesday to take part in the campaign to collect blood to combat Brazil’s current dengue fever epidemic. The outbreak is the worst in the nation’s history and has already infected more than 75,000 people and killed at least 80 in Rio state…Officials were forced to turn her away because not enough time has elapsed since she had surgery in February for her to be eligible to donate.”

Plus – what would happen if her blood got transfused into more than one person down there. And worse yet – what if her blood got put in people that work in blackberry factories, live on yachts and have steel tipped fists?

Mayhem, that’s what would happen. Well it’s a good thing then that those Brazilian doctors read the smoke plumes that rose up from under the pile of burning virgins correctly and refused Campbell’s germy donation.

It’s simply not worth the risk.
