Why Boardwalk Empire Isn’t More Popular

HBO had a slogan that it used extensively to promote how transcendently good their programming was: ?It's not TV, it's HBO.? Audiences responded with ?Yeah?? Nonetheless, HBO has a reputation for awesome television. From The Sopranos to Game Of Thrones, they've always tended to put out quality work. One of those more recent quality works has been Boardwalk Empire. However, Boardwalk tends to get lost in discussions about modern television.

It's an awesome period piece with a good cast and direction. The sets are top notch and the writing always leans toward better-than-average. However, it hasn't achieved the greatest amount of popularity.

Paz de la Huerta – who you’ve never heard of because she’s an actress on Boardwalk Empire, which is only watched by eight broadsheet writers and a handful of saps in slacks – has been charged with assault.

Who has she attacked? Well, you’ll be fizzing with excitement when you discover that she set-about ‘City’ star Samantha Swetra.

Amazing! It would appear that Paz has been charged with 5 misdemeanor charges, including two counts of 3rd degree assault, 4th degree criminal possession of a weapon, attempted assault and harassment. Great list.

After The Fall: A Guide To This Autumn’s American TV Pilots.

American television is a strange beast. There’s a more naked, pronounced competitive edge between the networks than there is on this side of the Atlantic. No more so is this evident than at the start of a new season. In the lead-up to a new season’s beginning, the likes of Fox, CBS, NBC etc. are readying and gussying up their newest shows. Buzz grows louder for some, while others are proclaimed the worst thing to be screened on television since that video that kills people in The Ring.

And then in the first week of the season, regardless of how ready they are for human consumption, the pilots for all the latest and hopefully greatest new shows are prodded from the traps, unsteadily blinking onto the course for the ratings race that is premiere week.
