  • Twitter – With all the bickering and poor taste, coupled with the introduction of ‘promoted tweets’; has our favourite social network finally “jumped the shark”?
  • Jumping The Shark – A popular TV phrase taken from the Happy Days moment where Fonzie literally jumped a shark, it has become synonymous with things that have gone too far. Ironically, the phrase itself appears to have jumped the shark, probably creating some kind of paradox.
  • The Christian Media – Bill O’Reilly et al. aren’t buying this Norway thing at all…
  • Internet Censorship - It’s here and it’s coming on the BT Bus. Maybe they should try providing a consistent broadband service before cutting bits out of it.
  • Google+ – Want to use a pseudonym? Tough. Mof Gimmers would be screwed if that wasn’t his real name.

But then, this is a free game that you can play online with little to no commitment, so these criticisms really don’t apply. It’s just that was a reasonable way to open this article, and MSOIDS almost does exactly that – takes something old, makes it seem new.

Well, not so much ‘new’ as ‘different’.

It’s Asteroids – that old arcade shooter that many of you probably think was the pinnacle of all gaming ever – but it’s drawn using MSPaint. Which means it looks a bit crap. But it’s alright, because it’s crap in an ironic, clever, even artistic fashion. So you’re not allowed to complain.

The real kicker comes with the fact that it’s really, really hard too. So it looks daft and it’s too hard. That’s a good enough recommendation in anyone’s book, surely?
