And since Bee Movie has shown that movies can climb the weekend box office in successive weeks, let's hope that Lions For Lambs follows the trend next week and goes from having a deeply crappy weekend box office outing to the giddy heights of having just a slightly crappy weekend box office outing in seven days' time.

American Gangster - the movie that's a little bit like Donald Trump's life story, only with more illegal drug trafficking and hair that doesn't look like the clippings from a baboon beauty salon - is number one at the box office.

And comprehensively so, too - American Gangster's opening US weekend box office takings are around $46 million, proving that if there's one thing people like to watch, it's morally-ambiguous stories about getting people hooked on cheap drugs and/or murdering them. In fact, American Gangster's moral ambiguity is probably what's made it such a success at the weekend box office - because, really, strip away all of American Gangster's illegality and you're pretty much left with Good Burger.
