A few days before he was shot in the leg at Kanye West’s pre-MTV awards party, Suge Knight gave an interview with a journalist from XXL magazine. In it, he claimed "I don’t walk in fear."
Now, after the doctors have removed the bullet that he possibly shot into his own leg by accident, chances are he doesn’t walk at all.
Such is the lack of people coming forward as witnesses to Suge’s
shooting, police in Miami are convinced that they are being stonewalled
by uncooperative party-goers. There has been talk of a man in a hoodie
shooting Suge, or a man in a pink shirt shooting Suge. "We don’t have
any physical description. We don’t know how many
subjects were involved, which is mind-boggling, with all those people
around," according to Miami Beach police spokesman Bobby Hernandez.
But there’s apparently a strong possibility that the shooting was a
great big cock-up accident. Hernandez added, "We’re looking at it as
being anything from an accidental discharge, maybe a member of his own
entourage."
According to some reports, Suge had just been talking about peace
between the rival east and west coast rap scenes moments before he was
shot.
Suge Knight is no stranger to trouble. Though never named as a
suspect, he never seems to be far from discussions about the drive-by
slayings of Tupac Shakur and Notorious BIG, the two high-profile
casualties of the hip-hop ‘war’ between Knight’s Death Row (CDs) record label
and Bad Boy, owned by Diddy – host of this year’s MTV Music Video Awards.
Whatever happened, let’s leave the last words to The Game:
"I’ve been shot several times myself and I wouldn’t wish this on anybody".
Quite.
