Sugababe Amelle Ditches ‘Sister-Raping’ Boyfriend
When you're a sexy girl pop star, you can literally take your pick of boyfriends, although it stands to reason that you'll probably just end up picking a man that's accused of raping your sister like Amelle Berrabah from the Sugababes.
Actually that's a bit of a lie – Amelle Berrabah has just dumped her boyfriend Freddie Fuller, who is currently on bail accused of raping Amelle's younger sister. And that makes a lot of sense – if you found out that your boyfriend had possibly raped your sister, chances are you'd ditch him too. But that's not why Amelle Berrabah dumped Freddie Fuller – Amelle Berrabah dumped Freddie Fuller because some Sugababes fans were upset that she was going out with a potential rapist. So upset that they threatened to kill her. Goodness, if the Sugababes' music was this interesting, maybe we'd stop trying to kick ourselves in the eye the moment we heard any of it.
For a band that was recently named the best-selling female act of the 21st century who all look slightly – or something – the Sugababes aren't half dull. Seriously, as soon as science invents an android capable of grinning, doing local radio idents, performing dead-eyed sexy dances in videos and not being Christmas number one, the Sugababes will become instantly obsolete.
In the past the Sugababes have tried to interest themselves up by systematically killing off any Sugababe who's been in the ranks for too long and threatening to sing songs to nearly-dead men. But now the Sugababes finally have a decent story to their name, and it's all down to newest Sugababe Amelle Berrabah and her predilection for trying to get married to men who've apparently raped her little sister. According to reports, Amelle Berrabah recently got engaged to Freddie Fuller – a man currently on bail on charges of sister-rape – but the couple have just split up thanks to some community-minded Sugababes fans threatening to kill Amelle. Sky reports:
Reports surfaced last week that Amelle had allegedly received death threats and her car had been attacked, following rumours of the couple's engagement. Freddie is currently on bail facing rape charges. He was accused of raping Amelle's younger sister – a charge which he denies. Whilst Amelle was sticking by her man, she has now told the Daily Mirror: "I have split from Freddie for good and am recording with the girls. My life is back on track."
All this Amelle business just goes to show that if you're ever concerned about the physical welfare of a celebrity, the best way to alert them to their troublesome situation is to smash up their car and threaten to kill them a bit. And now that Amelle Berrabah has shown how effective this tactic is, perhaps the celebrity death threat fad will move on to other troubled celebrities. Maybe next week someone will try smothering Amy Winehouse in her sleep to help her quit drugs, or Kerry Katona will wake up one morning to find 50 concerned Bella readers attacking her car with hammers.
