So poor old shrieking redhead Patsy Palmer has been eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing just before this week’s semi-final. And, less relevantly, Patsy’s bigmouth partner has gone too.

That leaves just four Strictly Come Dancing contestants left in the running: Zoe Ball, Colin Jackson, James Martin and Darren Gough. One of them has to win – but which one? It’s no good trying to work it out from the judges – their puffy faces seem to only be able to talk in laboured puns all the time. And it’s no good trying to work it out from Bruce Forsyth – he’s now officially the most confused man on the TV.

No. You should work out who’s going to win by looking at the betting odds. And we’ve got part one of the Strictly Come Dancing betting odds right here, with help from Betfair.com

Zoe Ball – Last week Zoe Ball had a bit of a cold. So she was
practising her Strictly Come Dancing routines on depleted energy, and she spent most of that complaining
about having a cold to anyone that’d listen. As a result her first
dance, a Cha Cha Cha to Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now, was slightly
lacklustre. It was, according to the judges, "The first time I ever saw
her make a few blunders." SCORE – 32

However, Zoe’s second dance – the oddly named American Smooth – was
far better received. "Romance set to music… just like being in a
dream,"
noted one of the delusional judges. SCORE – 36 - Current odds – 2.34

Colin Jackson – Colin Jackson is a man who puts such phenomenal
effort into his dance routines that we actually feel uncomfortable
watching him do them. But his tactics are working – he’s closing on
Zoe in the Strictly Come Dancing betting odds. His first dance was a rumba, which made the judges gush, "Tonight
you truly had the passion and intensity of a Latin dancer." SCORE – 36

His American Smooth routine did even better. One judge called it
"witty," which is more than we can say for the judge who said "You
really put the fizz into physical." SCORE – 37
Current odds – 2.5

  • Mrs Sibson says:

Why have the judges got it in for James, it seems he can do nothing right. Already they’ve decided he will go on saturday, and should have gone last week instead of Patsy. As a viewer I can’t see that he has been any worse than some of the others, some dances suit some people better than others. As for him and Camilla they are both single so why make a meal of it, lucky her!!
    Many Thanks
