Strictly Come Dancing Betting Odds: Peter Out, Who’ll Win?
On Saturday's Strictly Come Dancing, the inevitable happened – after seven weeks of lumbering around a stage like an out-of-control Frankenstein's Monster chasing some poultry around a farm, Peter Schmeichel was booted from Strictly Come Dancing.
As is typical with all this slightly too-long talent shows, the standard of performance grows a little tiny bit every time another dancer leaves. Normally at this point we'd say that Peter Schmeichel just wasn't able to cut it amongst these increased levels of scrutiny from the Strictly Come Dancing judges, but that'd be a big fat lie – can you remember a time when Peter Schmeichel didn't look like a complete mess staggering around the stage like a gunshot victim? Of course you can't, and how dare you question us.
But now Strictly Come Dancing features 100% less Danish oafery, who'll win? Here are the Strictly Come Dancing betting odds for Claire King, Carol Smillie and Emma Bunton…
Claire King – We think we've nailed the reason why Claire King isn't doing so well at Strictly Come Dancing – well, apart from the fact that she's not really very good at dancing – and that's that she's less famous than her dance partner. All Claire King is to most people is a woman who was on Emmerdale about a thousand years ago, while Brendan Cole is in the newspapers every day. But he's in the papers for being a ridiculous twat that nobody likes, and we think it's working against Claire. On Saturday Claire's Strictly Come Dancing routine was to Ole Guapa, and it was OK enough, but the Strictly Come Dancing judges took just about as much offence to it as if Claire had been dancing with a stillborn calf, saying "Sometimes you did lose the chemistry that is necessary for this dance." It doesn't take a genius to see that Claire King's Strictly Come Dancing days are numbered. SCORE: 29 - Current Strictly Come Dancing betting odds – 40/1
Carol Smillie – Being torn apart by the Strictly Come Dancing judges last week affected Carol Smillie's confidence somewhat – which is weird to think from someone who used to oversee a gangly fop painting a pikey's house like the side of a cow on a weekly basis – but on Saturday's Strictly Come Dancing, Carol managed to pull herself together enough to cha cha cha to Dancing In The Moonlight without boiling over with rage and pushing her fist through any of the Strictly Come Dancing judges' faces. And, in turn, the judges slightly overdid their Smilliepraise, thankful for the evening not ending in an embarrassing display of violence. "I'm smiling tonight – the improvement is remarkable." Doesn't mean that Carol Smillie has any more of chance of actually winning Strictly Come Dancing, though. SCORE: 30 – Current Strictly Come Dancing betting odds – 18/1
Emma Bunton – Way back when Strictly Come Dancing started, Emma Bunton was easily the favourite to win the show, thanks to her former career of tottering about on platform heels while Sporty Spice did a backflip. Now, though, Emma Bunton is in the bottom half of the Strictly Come Dancing contestants. Why? Well, perhaps it's because her cha cha cha to All Right Now lacked the sparkle that her previous dance routines were full of, prompting the Strictly Come Dancing judges to tell her "I found that a little bit disappointing. For me it was full of too many still moments," but perhaps – just perhaps – it was because Emma Bunton didn't grab her hoo-hahs quite as many times as she did the week before. SCORE: 30 – Strictly Come Dancing betting odds – 9/2
