The Futureheads are back and stronger than ever.

They’ve had a breathless few years - twanging from Band Most Likely To to Cover Version Wunderkids to Dropped By Their Label Also-Rans in the blink of an eye. But with new album This Is Not The World out this month and, most importantly, their own label to release it on, The Futureheads look in ruder health than ever.

We asked The Futureheads’ Barry Hyde the same questions we ask everyone else, and this is how he answered…

Finish this sentence: If I ruled the world, I’d..
Have an absolute nightmare trying to keep control of it.

How does it feel to be releasing stuff on your own label now? Is it harder work?
Doing it this way is very rewarding, we feel like we have learned loads over the past 7 years and now we get to call the shots. The work aspect feels the same. Our work is to wrote songs, make albums and play shows. We’ve always done that.

Is there a film, record or book that changed your life?
Watching the Woodstock movie had a pretty big impact on my then teenage mind.

What’s your guilty pleasure?
I eat offal. It’s filthy I know. I’m not ashamed.

What turns you on?
My fiance.

Are there any plans to sign new acts to your record label?
No plans to do that. We don’t want to be label bosses to anybody but ourselves.

Who’s the biggest celebrity idiot you’ve ever met?
I met Mickey Mouse when I was a child. One of the most stupid people on earth.

What would be your super power of choice?
To be able to freeze time and then arrange it in random order.

You’re record industry moguls now. Have you thought about growing a ponytail or snorting coke off a hooker’s arse yet?
A few albums down the line. We have to pace ourselves.

What was the first record you bought yourself?
It was an album by Can called Monster Movie.

When was the last time you cried at a film?
It feels like a long time ago, perhaps Dancer in the Dark.

What is the strangest favourite fan request you’ve ever had?
“Will you sign my scotch egg?”

Why did you call your label Nul? Were there any other names in the running?
We chose Nul because it means 0 in many languages and we like the way it looks.

Which animal would you be?
Domesticated Fox.

What do you want written on your gravestone?
‘Danger Below!’

Say something nice about hecklerspray.
I like your shoes. Works everytime. With anything,

Ok, plug whatever you want…
Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes, I got the whole works recently. I love it.
