SLACKERJACK – Sweetopia
Sweets are probably the most evil thing on Earth. Firstly, we only need to eat a few of them before we start to experience sugar crashes like the overdose scene from Trainspotting and secondly, have you seen the bloody price of pick 'n' mix these days?
A better name for Sweetopia would be When Sweets Go Bad. Sweetopia is basically a puzzle game that sees you thrust into a spluttering faulty sweetshop, and all you have to do is close down the machinery before it all explodes in a big sherbety mess. Completing Sweetopia looks like it'll be easy – you just create rows of several similar sweets by firing a sort of sweet gun at the ever-increasing row of sweets, but Sweetopia grabs you with the layout of the tracks, which make it systematically more difficult to get your shots in without having to pull off ridiculous ricochet shots. Sweetopia's tricky, but it's addictive and it's just about the most colourful thing you'll see all day, too.
