What with that 300 film coming out soon and nobody being able to decide whether it’s good or crap, we decided to delve into Spartan history to do a little background research for you. OK - the extent of our research was playing a game called Spartan, but that’s still probably more than you’ve done.
Spartan is the most searingly faithful historical online game we’ve ever played, and painstaking reproduces the training regime that made the Spartan army the most powerful in the world. As legend decrees, the mighty Spartan army prepared for the epic Battle Of Thermopylae by standing stock-still and occasionally pressing either up, down or right on their keyboards to dodge the jugs that were sometimes thrown at them. OK, so Spartan isn’t going to win awards for originality or accuracy, but it’s kind of fun. Kind of.
