The Ring was one of the scariest films ever made. It changed the way that people looked at telephones and televisions. And also made us sleep with the lights on for six months.

For those that haven’t seen it, it’s about a video. When the viewer watches it, they get a mysterious phone call that informs them that they only have seven days left to live. And when the seven days are up, a woman… well, we’re still actually too freaked out to tell you what the woman does.

Anyway, the movie was followed-up by a slightly more confusing sequel, the obviously-titled Ring 2. It’s out on DVD on August 29th, and a genius promotional viral has been created to mark the release.

Enter the e-mail addresses and mobile phone numbers of up to six of your mates, and they’ll be sent an e-mail containing the video from The Ring. And when they’ve finished watching it, they’ll get a mysterious phone call informing them that they only have seven days left to live. Then, in true Ring style, they get the chance to forward the message on to more of their mates…
