SLACKERJACK – Redder

Redder is an unashamedly 1980s game – we say that not because of its blocky graphics or spare soundtrack, but because it’s quite bloody bleak.

You’re a spaceman in Redder, and it’s your job to wander around a seemingly endless around of screens looking for little diamonds. All by yourself. There’s nobody to help you, you’ll never meet another living creature and it’s never made clear why you need the poxy diamonds anyway. That said, once you’ve got the hang of it – and have stopped pacing yourself for a flash-bang game – Redder can be quite engrossing.
