Here's a game we haven't been able to stop playing. Final Fortress is immense – it's exciting, relentless, nerve-destroying stuff and we genuinely can't get enough of it.
In Final Fortress you play a lone gunner – the last defender of a target – shooting at waves and waves of soldiers who are streaming at you until you somehow manage to overcome them. Then the vans come. And then the tanks. And then the helicopters. And then the bombers. All through Final Fortress, it feels like you're just about hanging on until you're pleading with Final Fortress to just end the level so that you can repair your guns and maybe lay some mines. And then you're off again, but this time the Final Fortress enemies are even more hard to beat. And Final Fortress is like that for 30 levels. Final Fortress left us absolutely at the end of our tether, but we keep going back for more.
