Digg this!

Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge Of The Sith has drawn in vast numbers of people to cinemas worldwide, breaking the opening three-day and four-day records, previously held by Spiderman (DVDs) and The Matrix: Reloaded (DVDs).

Yoghurt_1Since opening, Sith has taken $158.5 million in American cinemas alone. By counting the rest of the world, that figure goes up to $303 million. It’s unclear what percentage of this number was made up of spods dressed as stormtroopers going to see it twelve times in a row.

The movie has stopped the 12-week cinema slump that had been worrying the film studios. Kingdom Of Heaven took less than expected, and The Hitchiker’s Guide To The Galaxy got to number one in the box office with surprisingly low takings.

The full estimated Friday-Sunday American Box Office chart looks like this…
