I am an Inuit Canadian. My people and the Canadians on the east coast of Canada have lived from the Ocean for millenia. How is hunting seals different than eating beef or pork or chicken? We do not get tomatoes, lettuce or tofu growing in the ice pans. We do not have high tech industries, our economies are based on the ocean. ONe adult seal eats over 100 lbs of fish a day. The cod stocks need replenishing, this is not going to happen since the seals have now tripled in numbers since the 70s. McCartney needs to go back to England and tackle domestic issues, he doesn’t understand this one and he will walk away from Canada with egg on his face. McCartney, are you going to provide jobs to the fishermen of Eastern Canada?

How uninformed can you get.
White coats baby seals as you reference haven’t been hunted since 1987.
There are 6 million Harp seals, 2 million Hood seals and about 1 million plus of other types of seals.
Maybe he should join with WWF in protecting the endangered species like Cod because cod have become the main diet of seals well at least their bellies they leave the rest to rot. Cod are about to be listed on the endangered species list in exaclty the same areas where the seals are most abundant is this coincidence?
One of the worlds greatest food supplies and ecosystems has been thrown of ballance because these attention seekers and ARA’s want to balance their check books.

What hypocrisy! McCartney, his wife, and other animal rights activist like him, dare show up on Canadian soil to protest the annual seal hunt. No doubt he’ll take advantage of any photo opportunity and eventually we’ll see plenty of pictures of the aging singer next to little white seal pups.

Meanwhile in Canada alone, 100,000 abortions are carried out each year. Lord only knows how many babies are slain around the globe each year.

Mr. McCartney, take your animal rights activists with you; bog off back to Blighty and protest something that really matters.
