Rush Hour 3 Says Bonjour To Weekend Box Office
Then buzz it up

Summer 2007 was all about the third sequel - with Spider-Man, Pirates Of The Caribbean, Shrek and the Bourne movies all getting in on the act - so it was inevitable that Rush Hour 3 would waltz up and do well too at some point.
And it has, thank goodness. Rush Hour 3 has topped the US weekend box office, finally letting Rush Hour fans around the world discover the ending to all the unanswered questions from Rush Hour 2, like "Why doesn't Chris Tucker make more films?", "Isn't Jackie Chan getting a bit old for this?" and "Will there ever be a Rush Hour 4?", with the respective answers "because he's rubbish," "yes," and "please god no". But we shouldn't judge Rush Hour 3 because, as Brett Ratner is so fond of boasting, making a weekend box office-topping movie that solely based around a string of negative racial and sexual stereotypes is harder than it looks.
Rush Hour 3 is the top movie at this week's US weekend box office, even though the movie follows the exact formula of Rush Hour and Rush Hour 2, in that Chris Tucker walks into a room and shouts at baddies untill Jackie Chan has to beat them up and run into another room, where Chris Tucker shouts at some baddies until Jackie Chan has to beat them up and then everyone goes home and forgets that they've even watched a Rush Hour film at all. But let's give Brett Ratner some credit; he's nuanced Rush Hour 3 by setting it in Paris - that way he can be racist in three different ways at once. Here's the US weekend box office top five…
1 - Rush Hour 3 (We shouldn't be so down on Rush Hour 3, you know. After all, it did top the US weekend box office, so it must be of some worth - plus it hopefully means that Chris Tucker won't be in another film until 2012) $50,240,000
2 - The Bourne Ultimatum (That ultimatum, for those of you who were unsure, was "Keep making these generically gritty car chase movies or we'll get you back in the co-joined twin suit") $33,670,000
3 - The Simpsons Movie (People would still rather watch a brief second of a cartoon boy's penis than an entire film starring Sienna Miller. Good to see the universe is still in perfect working order) $11,125,000
4 - Stardust (A Robert De Niro movie taking less than $10 million at the weekend box office - less than five times the amount of a racist, homophobic kung-fu sequel? What caused that? Sienna Miller? Oh) $9,011,000
5 - Underdog (Where Underdog saves the world by being on heat and wiping its bleeding vagina across its owners' cream carpet, prompting a premature discussion about puberty with their crying four-year-old son) $6,456,000

What happened!?!? Rush Hour 3 was supposed to be the MAIN EVENT this summer! But frankly, it failed miserably. I agree, who ever directed this movie showed racism in several accounts. First it was the Chinese guy made to look stupid because he was speaking French. Then it was when the Chinese guy called Chris Tucker the N word. Then it was when the French cab driver reffered to ALL Americans as violent murderers and thieves. And it was just so much stuff. Some of the jokes felt humiliating to hear! At some points doing the movie it felt as though the movie was aiming toward a preschool audience! And what business did Goliath Jr. have in Rush Hour 3 anyways!? I saw absolutely no relevance to that! And to make it worse, it was in PARIS!!!…..Tell me, when was the last time you saw a 7ft whatever inches Chinese giant in Paris!? Unless Yoa Ming is strolling through, you WON’T! -sigh- it’s a sad shame that the Rush Hour series has come to such a disgraceful end. I’m hoping that there is a Rush Hour 4 so they can clean up the shit they left on Rush Hour 3. I don’t even know if I will buy the dvd when it comes out.
Rush Hour 3 sucks so much fucken suck, it FUCKS! It fucken sucks so much cock sucker mother fucker BULL FUCK THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
