When looking for someone to act as the once-prodigious, now-dead Jeff Buckley why not go for talent on the level of Robert Pattinson?
After all, he is an actor lacking any discernable passion, he is attractive in a thoroughly mediocre way and he’s generally a bit crap.
It’s a perfect fit for the lead role in the still-vaunted biopic of Jeff Buckley. Especially if Pattinson is into method acting and decides to do his own stunts. In the drowning scene.
Too harsh?
Okay, maybe we don’t want Robert Pattinson dead simply for wanting to play Jeff Buckley – after all, he is just a middle-of-the-road acting type, who only achieved fame by starring in some truly awful films that appeal to children and idiots.
And after all, he only wants to play a middle-of-the-road singer, who only achieved popularity through being both dead and associated with The X Factor.
It’s a partnership for the ages.
In fact, maybe the film will feature Buckley as he is right now, thus taking complete advantage of Pattinson’s “lifeless corpse” acting the manchild employs in so much of his work. The charisma on show would be sure to be palpable.
As reported on Digital Spy, Buckley’s mum said these words:
“Whoever gets the part will need a lot of self-discipline because they won’t be able to fake it. It’s going to take a phenomenal set of skills.”
So it’s going to need real talent as well as acting talent? Ah. Robert Pattinson is probably out then. This would mean the other hopefuls – Jared Leto, James Franco and James Marsden – should probably be struck off the list along with Captain Flatface.
Though, to be fair, at least he doesn’t smell. Even if all of his time will be taken up bathing in tween urine and making dozens of incredibly dull vampire films.
The quest to rape the memory of a reasonably-talented songmeister who had a ridiculously short life continues apace.
Reports that X Factor winner Alexandra Burke was set to feature in a DVD extra where she takes a steaming dump on the grave of Buckley while chanting “hallelujah” were unconfirmed at the time of writing.

Say what you want about Robert Pattinson, personally, I will be mortified if he gets the role. But show some respect for Jeff Buckley. He was a brilliant, legendery singer that deserves respect.
Whatever.
Not even getting into it.
Obviously the asshole who wrote this article knows zilch about acting…
Robert Pattinson is a great actor and I’d like to see you try to portray a tortured artist or a man trying to find his identity from a young age in How To Be….
Obviously he is a fantastic actor seeing as he’s getting really good movie roles, your opinion on this article is biased and a load of bull…
That’s funny. You were joking, weren’t you? Are you saying you’re not biased? Aren’t we all, on the general first impression of an actor and his talent (or lack of in this case), at least a little biased? Tortured artists are everywhere, and doesn’t every teenager have a moment in time where they are “trying to find their identity?” Doesn’t seem like a very unique and challenging thing to me.
Sounds like a little jealousy on your part over Rob,
I think you only wish you could have half the talent that
man has, not to mention how extremely handsome he is. Now
why don’t you try writing something meaningful that people
really would like to read about instead of your insecurities.
Thank you!
I enjoyed reading it. It meant something to me. I don’t think it’s jealousy. I think it’s someone calling an actor out on the fact that he can’t compare to real talent. Peace.
JEALOUS!!!!!!!!
wow insulting rob is one thing, but jeff buckley who was an amazing musician and person is another.
sounds like not only are you a jealous twat but also a dumb shit on a stupid website that needs attention by mentioning rob and putting down talented people.
good day to you sir and congratulations on reaching the ultimate level of d-baggery!
buckley “middle-of-the-road”? you’re SO tough, dransfield.
He’s getting good roles because he will be a huge draw with a built-in fan base. I like him too, but I have yet to see anything thst convinces me he is a “great actor”. OK in HP, kinda bland in Twilight. But still good-looking IMHO.
Ian, you have a wicked sense of humor and brighten up my day!
Alrighty then. Personally I think wishing death on anyone – joking or not – should not be tolerated, especially after what happened to Heath and many more amazing actors over the years. I think you should formally apologize for that comment above all else. You can dislike Robert’s acting ability all you want – everyone has an opinion – like assholes everyone’s got one – you just happen to have two – one located on your face. As a writer I am appalled by what you have posted. It’s heartless and meaningless. So you don’t want him in this role, fine. You want to say that his movies are meaningless and that he is one dimensional. Have you watched the movies or are you just looking in the mirror. Whoever gave you a job should re-think it because you have nothing to say but blasphemous bull crap to which there is no merit to what you have to say. Shame on you – and if you are going to make fun of someone, here’s a thought – don’t call them something they’ve already called themselves – on the Twilight commentary Robert talks about his flat face. Of course, from reading this it’s hard to believe you’ve even glanced at his work.
Immature much. You could have at least tried to be mature and reasonable about your trashing rob. All you did was find any kind of way to insult him. You obviously don’t know good acting when you see it.
Maybe you should find some friends instead of writing hate articles on rob.
good luck with your life!
Okay! Robert only achieved fame by staring in some truly awful films that appeal to children and IDIOTS. Not only have you insulted Robert and the legendary musician Jeff Buckley but also insulted me and all the fans out there by calling us idiots because we like a movie. Ha!Ha! Fine! I will never read another article from Ian Dransfield again.
Good day to you and good luck with your writing career.
Okay, well, not being a children, that leaves me with….duh. Still, bounce high for me, my flatfaced lover. Say what you will, Drans, Pattinson is a handsome devil, and a great part of his charm is his complete bewilderment by his (admittedly overdrawn) fifteen minutes.
Who’s Jeff Buckley?
(Post Google) Oh, ok. So, sort of Nick Drake, right?
well…….. Mr Dransfield…if u think that Rob is a mediocre actor and worth nothing….then why don’t u go and act that part and see how well u can do it??? Huh??
see how good u will feel when u’ve put all u have into the part, and some journalist who has no idea what u’re about , insults the work u’ve created?? it’s so easy to criticise and slander, but whether u like it or not, Rob has too much talent and
is destined for better things…..so i think u should choose your words and think again!!! and the fact that u find time to write about him, although it’s a load of trash, means he has gotten your attention!! Rob’s here to stay so deal with it!!
YOU….ARE….AN….ASS

I agree that Robert Pattinson would have remained an unknown if it wasn’t for Twilight. But that’s the life of an actor isn’t it? That’s how actors get catapulted into the limelight – they get that one role that makes them get noticed. However, more often than not these are the very roles that get bashed by critics who think they need to say something bad in order to be a good critic. I saw Twilight and enjoyed it. I’m not a teenager or an idiot and I’m not saying it’s the best movie I’ve ever seen, but it was good. His Edward Cullen character made me curious enough to want to watch him in any other movie I can get my hands on. I think all the characters he’s played were different enough to warrent him a potentially good actor. Again, these were small movies and some of the roles he played were even smaller. I found him convincing though. I admit I have not seen an oscar worthy performance from him ….yet. But he’s very young and he has potential. As far as his looks, he’s like every one else. He has his hot days and his not so hot days. I find his looks very interesting along with his personality. Will his star power stay? That remains to be seen. Will I be following his career until I don’t find him interesting anymore? You bet I will.
oh god. the “twatlighters” are responding in defense of their “hero”.lol.
Honestly now, Pattionson’s biggest gigs have been modeling jobs previous to twatlight, ok, does that 10 minutes air time as Cedric Digger in harry potter really count?. Lets face it, the guy can’t act his way out of a paper bag if it was filled with dog doo doo.
Just look at his work on ‘DALI” it was laughable. How embarrassing!
Pattinson knows he’s getting a free ride and he knows he’s not an “actor”. He’s striking while the iron’s hot. In 3 years, if that, he’ll be a has been. All the little Twatheads will have gone off to soemthing else. Pattinson’s got no staying power.
His voice without being enhanced is seriously bad. Look on Utube at his performance at the Whisky a Go go under I Was Broken. lol MY DOG STARTED TO HOWL JUST HEARING HIM SING!
a singer’s POV on this,
plus: sound examples of them both for you to judge:
Listen to Buckley and Pattinson singing and judge for yourself
Haha
Bet ur lovin the conflict uv caused ian lol
Personally i think u can hav ur own opinion & no1 shud rly care
I just think ur a bit pathetic
