Robbie Williams To Destroy ‘Saturday Night Fever’

Saturday_night_fever70’s flick Saturday Night Fever has got something of an unfair reputation. Far from being the cheesy dance-marathon that the people who organise ‘School Disco’ nights would have you believe, its actually a dark slice of drama with one of the most unsympathetic leading characters in mainstream cinema.

Not that this means anything to The Bee Gees (CDs), though.

In a move which will surely delight Bacardi-swilling checkout girls, the remaining Gibb brothers are rumoured to be hatching plans of a ‘big-budget remake’, featuring none other than gurning pantomime simpleton Robbie Williams (CDs).

God only knows what sort of celluloid nightmare these rumours (if true) are going to throw up. Whereas Travolta played his original part with sneering and vicious gusto, chances are that ickle Robbie’s legions of PR people will want their dullard employer portrayed in a more sympathetic light.

In short, hecklerspray says: expect awfulness.

Horrifying questions arise. Where is this epic going to be set? Are we to see the inner-city coolness of the original replaced by somewhere thoroughly British - you know, some godforsaken town centre where any visiting aliens would instantly assume the place was acting as some sort of Scum Breeding Program? Like Watford?

Of course, the alternative beckon. If it is set in the States, we may well be treated to Williams attempting an American accent. And - seeing as his idea of performing consists of raising an eyebrow and nodding in time to the music - something tells us that his thespian abilities may not be in the Olivier category.

Still. Maybe hecklerspray has misjudged the cinema-going mood a little. It could be said that we don’t always have our finger on the national pulse. Many people, for example, like to refer to young Robbie as a loveable ‘cheeky chappie‘.

Whereas we just prefer the term ‘cunt‘.

At last an honest and impartial Robbie ‘I’m mad me, honest!’ Willams comment. I like everybody who isn’t either a 12 year old girl or a tone deaf retard, just hope that this cunt dies in a nasty accident. he is an insult to music.

  2. rob Says:

Steve. Get from up your own arse and realise That Robbie Williams is our greatest Talent we will ever have and i bet hes a brilliant actor.

  3. Teresa Says:

Why is everyone so nasty when you become successful? So Robbie Williams is a bit different; you will find that talented artists are ‘different’ if they were like other mere mortals they wouldn’t have what it took to create what they do…jealous people really p*** me off!!! Ignor the bad press Robbie and just get on with your successful career. A fan :-)

  4. James Says:

I don’t see why people have stuff against people that are in the entertainment industry. Robbie makes great music. He is a great person and shouldn’t be dissed. What right do you have to point out his shortfalls?

  5. Michelle Says:

Since you refer to Robbie Williams as a “cunt”, I can only assume this means you want to fuck him like millions of others across the globe….

  6. Lindsay Says:

You’re all bonkers. As if Rob would ever be involved in such a project. Is making up stuff the only way you can get published? Sad lot.

  7. bglover Says:

Um… Mr Barry Gibb laid this rumour to rest a few weeks’ back when asked on the US entertainment program - Entertainment Tonight.

He said there is no plan to remake SNF.

So, Robbie or not… It ain’t happening if Barry says no. Takes 2 to tango.
