Pitt to Do More Irony

Not content at being oh-so-hilarious with his Hollywood drinking buddies in Oceans 12, Brad Pitt is set to remain king of the Irony Castle with new film Chad Schmidt

Schmidt is the story of a talented young actor called Chad Schmidt trying to make his way in LA’s plastic fantastic movie mill. Big problem is he looks exactly like Brad Pitt (yeah, real shame).

As Pitt’s career rises Schmidt’s tumbles into (probably) Midnight Cowboy territory, as he becomes a casting agency joke.

Poor old Schmidt has to admit defeat and get a proper job while Pitt goes off to marry a slimmed down rhinosaurus.

Intriguing idea… seeing a major Hollywood star of dubious acting acclaim outdone by a more talented version of himself.

It’s quite possible that Brad’s brain has not caught onto the fact that the movie’s going to show him up as being nothing more than a walking, talking advert for the benefits of sucking in your cheekbones.

Chad Schmidt could become next year’s Buffalo Soldiers. Like Z-list celebrities queuing up to bemoan ‘Joss Ackland’s Spunky Backpack’ on Chris Morris’ never-bettered Brass Eye, in all probability poor old Brad Pitt doesn’t quite ‘get it’.

A lovely little side swipe at LA’s pretty system? All depends on who’s directing.

To throw a final ironic spanner in the cake, the search engines are already squashed ripe with an achingly painful rumour: Pitt might direct it himself.
