Pirates 2 for tea?
Then buzz it up

Word from BBC hacks is the sequel to Pirates of the Caribbean will involve cannibalism, portraying the Dominica Caribbean Indians as historical people-gobblers.
‘Carib’ Chief Charles Williams commented “Our ancestors stood up against early European conquerors and because they stood up…we were labelled savages”.
Yep, can’t say fairer than that.
“This cannot be perpetuated in movies.”
Quite right too.
It is upsetting that Disney are potentially taking this tact with one of the most anticipated sequels in recent years. Many high profile films, ‘Pearl Harbour’, ‘JFK’ and ‘Braveheart’, to name but three, have all taken no such liberties with history and still made riveting pieces of celluloid.
Movies are what we leave to our children to teach them the history of the world. Disney should think about this before they go off ruining the good name of the Dominica.
Reports that school children have been overheard exclaiming they “wanna be a cannibal like Johnny” are as yet unconfirmed.
