Hekbond

Hecklerspray can almost exclusively reveal that Pierce Brosnan will be starring in Casino Royale. Probably and without a shadow of a doubt.

Smooth and sexy ‘London Gentleman’ (if you haven’t seen Anchorman the best in life’s just passing you by) Pierce Brosnan has never even left the Bond camp, so an unnamed source close to the producers has commented.

It’s a regular thing for popular Bonds to say they are hanging up their PPK and girdle after each outing, only to return for next instalment anyway. Roger Moore did it all the time, and he managed to play Bond until he was 108 years old. Fact.

The understandably twitchy Bond production company EON has always been erring on the side of caution with regards to an official announcement over Brosnan’s ‘departure’. Contracts are probably being shuffled back and forth across the boardroom table this very minute.  Whether anyone will actually sign one or not is another matter entirely.

Pierce Brosnan has been a hugely popular choice for Bond ever since he took over the mantle in 1995.  His special brand of eighties cool coupled with a scary smile and ever expanding waistline are apparently all the qualities a guy needs to strap on the tux and gleefully embrace sexual harassment in the workplace.

The aforementioned unnamed source said of Bond moneymen Sony, “They could lose more with an unknown actor, or with an experienced but unpopular actor. They’re well aware that you just can’t place any actor in this role”.

No more guesswork then.  Anyone who made a bet Matt Lucas will take over as Bond has surely done their money now. He was so close too.
