Phil Spector is a midget. That's why he always wears platform shoes when go goes to court, why he occasionally tries to grow his hair into the exact dimensions of a hot air balloon – and it's why Phil Spector did not murder Lana Clarkson in 2003.
That's what Phil Spector says anyway. In a two-year-old video apparently shot by himself shown last night on US TV show Inside Edition, Phil Spector asserts that he couldn't have possibly murdered Lana Clarkson because she was 6'2" and he is only 5'5", making him too short to put the gun in her mouth. In other Phil Spector news, the 911 calls of Phil Spector's driver Adriano DeSouza were played to the court yesterday which seem to declare that, while Spector was too short to shoot Lana Clarkson, he was plenty tall enough to scare the living shit out of one of his Brazilian employees.
The Phil Spector murder trial took a while to get going thanks to delays, the jury selection process and poorly lawyers, but now we're finally at the interesting bit – the discussion of the moments surrounding the time that Lana Clarkson was fatally shot at Phil Spector's LA home. Up until now we only knew that Phil Spector was acting strangely on the night of the murder, but then came Phil Spector's driver Adriano DeSouza.
Adriano DeSouza was key to both sides of the murder trial, because it was to him that Phil Spector apparently said "I think I killed somebody" while staggering out of his house with a gun in his blood-covered hand. And yesterday at the Phil Spector trial we learnt that, immediately following this, Adriano DeSouza ran away as fast as he could and called 911 – the tapes of which were played to the court. Forbes reports one call:
"I think my boss killed somebody," he told one operator in a tape of the call played in court. Asked why he thought that, he stammered, "Because … he, he have a lady on the, on the floor and he have a gun in, in his hand." … He spoke of his fear during the conversation, saying, "I'm not inside anymore. I'm afraid to go inside," to which the officer responded, "I don't want you to, OK?"
Since the prosecution is obviously using Adriano DeSouza as its key witness, the defence is doing all it can to undermine him, claiming that his grasp of the English language means he may have misheard Phil Spector saying "I think I killed somebody" when he emerged from his house at 5am covered in blood and holding a gun. But undermining DeSouza is totally unnecessary because Phil Spector has already said that he's too short to murder anyone and why the judge hasn't packed up and gone home from that news is beyond us.
A videotape that Phil Spector made in 2005 was last night broadcast on Inside Edition that showed Phil Spector making this 'too short' argument, saying:
"The deceased, who was standing when she took her own life and she was 5-11 and she would have been 6 feet 2 with heels on, which she was wearing at the time of her death and that the gun was in a downward position… I am 5 foot 5. It would have been physically impossible for me to have administered the death wound to her in any shape, way or form."
As well as making this claim, Phil Spector also revealed that Lana Clarkson might have died because she "may have been eating the gun with her dancing" and that he expected some women to come forward claiming that he threatened them with guns in the past, also daring them to take a lie detector test – although it's unclear whether Phil Spector was referring to the woman who claims Phil Spector hit her in the head with a gun, the woman who claims that Phil Spector tried to rape her at gunpoint, either of the other two gun threat women, the woman who said Phil Spector looked like Elmer Fudd or Phil Spector's own reflection when he was wearing his lesbian wig and didn't realise it.

Maybe he was standing on a step ladder

So he has a reach of less than nine inches? That’s a stretch.
TT says
OJ did it.

The height issue is a red herring. Lana Clarkson’s body was found slumped in a chair by the door. If he followed his previous pattern, he probably forced her
to sit down before he shot her. See the diagram on the CourtTV website.

The trajectory of the bullet was fired from a position lower that lana clarkson’s mouth as can be seen here:

as was stated spector is 5’5 clarkson 5’11 (6’2 with heels), the angle makes perfect sense.
If you examine the autopsy photos her two front teeth are damaged from what I would assume to be recoil from the revolver (were it the bullet that caused the damage it would look quite different) the defense is claiming she killed herself but again the damage to the teeth rule this out as well. If you were to put a gun in your mouth you wouldn’t put it in right-side up it would be upside down because of the awkward angle require to put the gun in your mouth right-side up, to demonstrate this simply extend your arm fully and make a gun with your finger and thumb then turn your wrist and arm so that your index finger is pointed toward your mouth and your thumb is pointed at the ceiling… awkward isn’t it? do the same thing now but turn your wrist so that your thumb is pointing at the floor, that is more natural. Most guns recoil up and to the right, in order for the damage to her teeth to occur she would have had to put the gun in her mouth right-side up… the awkward way. had she done it the more natural way her bottom teeth would be damaged unless someone facing her stuck the gun in her mouth.
As for the slumped pose on the seat that could have been the way she fell after the shot or more likely spector placed her there and put the gun at her feet with her arm out-stretched to make it appear to be a suicide, her legs tell the story were you to sit in a chair and shoot yourself in the head your legs would not stretch out… remember these are hollywoodian people we’re dealing with and they’ve seen too many movies and think staging a suicide actually fools police.
You can see the police pictures of the scene on google images, turn off safe search and type lana clarkson.
