Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn: Wedding Crashers - Review Digest
Then buzz it up

Wedding Crashers is this year’s big summer comedy. Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn star as two hopeless cynics who, um, crash weddings to try and get inside the knickers of as many girls as they can.
Regular readers will remember that earlier in the week we featured the bizarre Wedding Crashers trailer that allowed you to superimpose your face over the characters. So, needless to say we’ve seen the trailer a billion times now - not least the Wedding Crashers trailer starring Jesus and a tub of Cillit Bang.
But as for the entire film - we don’t know. We haven’t seen it yet. But loads of other people have. Is it any good? Here’s our Wedding Crashers review digest…
Michael Holden from The Guardian says that "If you felt that Meet The Parents wasn’t long enough and had too many jokes in it then this is the movie for you."
Less relevantly, he goes on to tell a story about a man who
accidentally showed everyone a video of himself having sex with a dog
at his own reception. Happy days…
Keith Phipps from The Onion AV Club says that "It’s not exactly funny, but it at least has energy, and in this day of
near-mandatory PG-13 movies, it has the courage to be refreshingly
R-rated." Reading between the lines, we can tell that Keith didn’t like the film, but he likes looking at boobies.
Phil Villarreal from The Arizona Daily Star gave a more favourable review "With Vaughn, sexism, piggishness and chauvinistic jackassery are high
art. To watch him in action is to observe Olivier reciting Shakespeare."
Walter Chaw from Film Freak Central says "The picture does provide a certain breed of rough beast its annual fix
of unabashed homophobia, gratuitous body-double skin, arbitrary
ass-invasion, lame surprise cameo, and the inevitable forced-sentiment
finale." We can’t tell if that means Walter likes it or not.
Finally, Todd Masters from Hero Realm gives a word of odd, strange-auntie advice, "It
is not recommended for a first date as there are a number of situations
that will be awkward for couples who do not know each other well."
Wedding Crashers is released on Friday.
