Yesterday we showed you the betting odds of the three Best Actor Oscar nominees that don’t really stand a chance of taking the little golden man home with them. And today we’ll see the two favourites.

Like most of the Oscar nominees, there are two runaway nominees in the Best actor field. No disrespect to Terrence Howard, David Strathairn and Joaquin Phoenix, but you’re all rubbish and stupid and you couldn’t act to save your flipping lives. The Best Actor Oscar is most likely to go to one of the nominees we’ll be looking at today. And that means that you - yes, you - really should stick a little bet on the result. If anything, it’ll give you a handy excuse if someone asks you why you’re watching the Oscars.

So here are the Best Actress Oscar betting odds for Heath Ledger and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, with help from SportingOdds.com

Heath Ledger - Heath Ledger played Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain
- There isn’t a gay cowboy joke in the universe that you haven’t heard
any more, so we won’t make any. Today, at least. Heath Ledger has long
been spoken of as a real Best Actor Oscar contender, after winning all kind of awards for his role in Brokeback Mountain. Most of
Hollywood is amazed at his performance because - although actors often
pretend to be straight - not too many of them have tried to be gay. And
Heath really nails the role, mainly by copying Boomhauer from King Of The Hill. Heath has a pretty good set of odds, here. Current Best Actor Oscar betting odds - 13/2

Phillip Seymour Hoffman - Phillip Seymour Hoffman played Truman Capote in Capote
- We’ve studied this carefully, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman seems to be
the obvious winner of the Best Actor Oscar this year. And we’ll break
it down for you. 1) Truman Capote was a real man. 2) Truman Capote was openly gay. 3) Truman Capote is dead. 4) Phillip Seymour Hoffman got to put on a silly voice in Capote. That is literally all the criteria that people look for when they choose Oscar-winners. Current Best Actor Oscar betting odds - 1/6

That’s all for the actors - tomorrow we’ll be taking a look at the betting odds for the Best Film Oscar nominees. But in the meantime, head over to the Specials section of SportingOdds.com
to see the full list of Oscars betting odds in all categories. And
don’t forget to place a bet while you’re there. It’s easy and fun and SportingOdds.com will match your first bet when you open an account with them. Good luck!
