In the week since Donald Trump has become president, he has basically done every single evil and shitty thing he promised he’d do, and no one is more surprised than I am. I mean, I genuinely figured he’d take office and do nothing. Grab white house secretary’s asses or some vile shit, but nothing that would truly put the whole damn country in turmoil.
Boy, was I wrong. Aside from all his abortion and wall building heinous bullshit, you guys have probably also heard about his EXTREMELY unconstitutional Muslim ban. Trump made an executive order blocking citizens of seven Muslim majority countries from entering the US. This means that Iranian, Oscar-Winning and currently Oscar-nominated director Asghar Farhadi can’t even attend the fucking Oscars this year.
In 2012, Farhadi won Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars for his movie A Separation. This year he’s nominated for the same award for his film The Salesman. However, Mr. Farhadi who has put his heart and soul into making this critically acclaimed film will be unable to take the stage if he once again wins. Why? Because he’s a Muslim man who lives in Iran.
He has no ties to terrorism WHATSOEVER, and is a respected and well known director. He’s won an Oscar already, for Christ’s sake! But because of his religious and nationality he isn’t allowed to attend the ceremony where his film is being celebrated?! Maybe I’m crazy, but it’s this religious persecution?
Like, I’ll go back to writing about Kylie Jenner or Selena Gomez now in a minute, but can we please just all acknowledge that this is wrong? Like really, really wrong and sad.
If Donald Trump keeps going in this direction there will literally be no need for the Best Foreign Language Film award at the Oscars because no one nominated will be allowed in the fucking country!

I’m no purist, but your point would have been better expressed without the profanity. I understand anger and frustration but using profanity makes you equal to trump in how he expresses himself.

Wrong and sad? He just needs to clarify things.
