hecklerspray is more than pleased to announce the return of Sheffield’s most versatile singer-songwriter and raconteur John Shuttleworth (aka Graham Fellows) with a brand new live show and the release of the long awaited ‘It’s Nice Up North’ full length feature film…
How anyone can’t recognise the godlike genius of this man, and his exquisitely observed humour, is a mystery to esteemed scientists, and a source of great puzzlement for Dr Fox.
In recent years Shuttleworth become something of a cult legend. Once, after missing the UK Eurovision deadline, he made a serious – if valiant – attempt at submitting ‘Pigeons In Flight’ as an entry for Norway.
In a former life, performing as ‘Jilted John’, Shuttleworth rhymed ‘bus stop’ with ‘chip shop’, in an anti-anthem to somebody called Gordon (who was a moron, after stealing JJ’s girlfriend, Julie). Genius. It soared to number 4 in the charts.
Sensible people will immediately bag some tickets for his ‘Fawn Again’ tour which Shuttleworth has naturally extended to the provinces.
He will be appearing at a variety of charming Northern venues including the Laurence Batley in Huddersfield and Wakefield Theatre Royal.
‘It’s Nice Up North’ – a tongue-in-check travelogue and rockumentary if you will, shot entirely on location in the Shetland Isles – is due later in the year.
If you can’t wait you can catch a tantalising glimpse on the new DVD release of the ‘500 Bus Stops’ TV series available exclusively at John’s official website.
