Dax Shepard used to be on Punk’d, the show that involved pranking celebrities and was basically the high point of Ashton Kutcher’s career.? There were some celebrities who took it all with great strides, and others who showed how douche they were.? It was great television to see some famous rich girl cry because someone scratched her $80,000 car or some pretentious actor freak out because a homeless guy got into his bubble.
One of those celebrities who obviously lacked a sense of humor, or balls, was Justin Timberlake.? But now Jax has shared a story that makes Timberlake’s crying look like the least ridiculous thing Justin did that day.
Sure, now a days most people think of Dax Shepard as Kristin Bell’s husband, but people back in the day Shepard used to be Ashton Kutcher’s right hand man on Punk’d.? He played all sorts of characters, and really convinced these celebrities that these out of control situations were really happening to them.? This week, Jax did an interview with “WTF with Marc Maron” and he revealed a little insight into one of the biggest crybabies there were on the show.
Justin Timberlake is super hot and bad ass now, and seems to be the King of Cool, but a good decade ago he was still just the guy from NSYNC who thankfully finally got rid of his ramen noodle hair.? Of course, he was super famous so he was an ideal candidate to get his ass candid camera’d.? So, Kutcher and Punk’d decided that the best prank for him would be to fuck with his money.?? They had Dax play a government agent who was at Timberlake’s house to repo the shit out of his house and stuff because he was almost a million dollars behind in taxes.? Justin freaked out, called his mom, cried.? It was all glorious to watch.
After it was all revealed to be a joke, Justin laughed and tried to pretend he didn’t just act like a 14 year old girl who got told “no” but it seems there was even more behind the scenes according to Dax.? Shepard told Maron that Timberlake pulled a Bieber, which was dangerous for Justin since Dax fully admits he had a short fuse and a bad temper.
?As Ashton and I became friends, he said, ?You know, you can't, if someone gets physical with you, you're just going to have to take it, which weirdly enough ? definitely the most famous bit on the show in all the years was the Punk?ing of Justin Timberlake. What made it so viral, I guess, was that he had cried at one point in it.
At the end of that bit, when Ashton comes out [and says], ?You're on Punk?d? blah blah blah, and everyone is celebrating ? the bit is over, the cameras are off, and [Timberlake] keeps saying, ?Yeah, man. I was about to fucking punch you. And I was like, ?Hmm mmm, alright.?
?Dude, I was for real man, I was about to fucking punch you out.?
And I'm like, OK, that's number two. I'm thinking how many times can I hear this dude in his golf outfit ? he was wearing a golf outfit ? tell me he can punch me out before I'm just not going to be able to handle it? And God Bless Ashton. He goes, ?When were you going to punch him? Before or after you were crying???
Maybe it’s a Justin thing to be a bad ass only when you know damn right well no one is going to actually let you fight.? And a golf outfit?? Yes, there is something very intimidating about khakis and a moisture resistant polo, for sure.? I know I would cross the street if I saw Tiger Woods on the street.
Who would have thought the guy behind “Dick in a Box” would lack such a sense of humor?? Maybe Justin only appreciates jokes when people are laughing WITH him and not at him.? But I think it’s pretty safe to say that Timberlake was a very lucky guy that Dax managed to keep his anger in check and not dock him.? That beautiful face would have gotten the Chris Brown treatment, and it would not have ended well.
I mean, look at that face.? You can still see the glistening of the tears in those eyes, even with that grumpy face.? That’s a face you pity, not bruise.

He does look like a grumpy ugly baby in that photo, though I do find it a mix of endearing and mockable that he called mummy first.
