If I Did It, the book where OJ Simpson imagines what it would be like to kill those two people he didn't kill with proceeds going to the family of one of the people he imagines killing, was finally published yesterday.
And it was a happy day for everybody involved in the If I Did It process. Well, for everyone except for Judith Regan who got fired for commissioning the book, OJ Simpson whose reputation has sunk to a brand-new low, the Goldman family who are essentially profiting from their son's murder and Denise Brown who's furious that If I Did It was even published in the first place. By our estimations, that leaves the guy who designed the cover of If I Did It but, hey, he did a bang-up job so we're sure it was a happy day for him. Anyway, there's only one way to sort this sorry mess of a scenario out – and that's with the healing power of Oprah Winfrey.
Oprah Winfrey knows about trouble. Sure, you might be eeking out a friendless existence toiling away at three minimum-wage jobs just to be able to feed your family, but Oprah Winfrey wasn't invited to Tom Cruise's wedding and exclusive Paris boutiques won't open up after hours for her sometimes. That's the sort of emotional suffering that's made Oprah Winfrey into the woman she is today – the sort of woman who is able to try and rationally pick apart If I Did It by OJ Simpson with the people who'll get rich from the sale of the book; that is, the family of someone who OJ Simpson describes murdering in the book even though he was cleared of the murder in court.
It's been a long road getting If I Did It by OJ Simpson into stores. Originally slated for release ten months ago, Rupert Murdoch personally axed everything to with If I Did It because of the appalled public reaction. Then the family of murdered Ron Goldman tried to sue everyone until they realised they could get rich from the book if they won a court battle for the rights to the book so they'd earn 17 cents each time a ghoulish person decided to read about the horrific way that their son was murdered. And now If I Did It by OJ Simpson has finally been published, even beating a Barnes And Noble ban, the Goldmans have decided that what the book really needs is some publicity.
And that's why yesterday the Goldman family went on Oprah to peddle their 'hey, we're just a normal family trying to make a little dough by aggressively promoting a book that glorifies the violent method of our son's death' shtick. E! Online reports:
Appearing on the show were Fred and Kim Goldman, Ron's father and sister, and Denise Brown, sister of the late Nicole Brown Simpson, who spoke with Winfrey only on the condition she not share a stage with the Goldmans, in protest against the book's publication… "I didn't want to see [Simpson] profit one penny from butchering Ron, murdering Nicole. I perceived potentially as well that it could have been what has been called a 'manual for murder,'" [Fred] said of his initial reaction to the book. "This isn't an innocent man writing a book like this. An innocent man doesn't write a book of how hypothetically he would decapitate the mother of his children."
Still, whatever you may think about the Goldmans' motives for getting If I Did It published, at least you can count on Oprah for an unbiased journalistic opinion on the matter:
"I don't want to be in the position to promote this book because I, too, think it's despicable."
Despicable maybe, but not despicable enough to stop the Goldmans promoting If I Did It into the brains of millions of impressionable housewives on your own TV show that's got your own name as its title, clearly. Incidentally, we've always wanted to go on Oprah, so if any of you would like to write a book describing something you didn't do to us that we can claim the royalties for, please be our guest. But only if you think Oprah Winfrey will call us despicable. That bit's the dealbreaker.

I admit Oprah is a diva and richer than God, but…..being raised poor by teenage parents, being molested by a cousin, uncle, and a family friend, starting when she was nine years old, and getting pregnant at 14 and losing the baby may actually be the “sort of emotional suffering that’s made Oprah Winfrey into the woman she is today”.
Again, not a fan of Oprah, but come on.

I am an 80 year old disabled veteran and was taught that if you want the American way of life accept it. Simpson was found not guilty
by a jury and if I want to be American I have to accept any verdict a jury hands down. Rather I agree or not. Some people wont let go and
accept a verdict that they dont agree with. They cant shape justice to suit themselves and expect others to agree. If they keep up the
crap they should be explained to , what the trial by jury is. No matter what really happened or who did it, if the jury said not guilty, accept it
and let it go.

I have a mind of my own, and I’m going to read the book, in order to disect it and find “beyond a reasonable doubt” that this man is guilty.
I’m glad the Goldman’s who have been through a catastrophe are standing up to O.J. and the Brown Sister…who by the way was one
of the ones, who could’ve intervened, along with the Brown parents, but they were too busy with their hand out , living off of O.J.
If the Browns cared so much back then, they truly could’ve saved Nicole from the drug habit, fake breasts, and abusive relationships etc. (public knowledge back then).
I do feel for the Nicole’s children….what mental state those children must be in! Californians are very self centered and dumb aren’t they to not know that two
people were being murdered in such a brutal way, and no one heard yelling and screams. I don’t believe it and they’re just as guilty for not getting involved.
Californians, freaks who think Hollywood is a sign of stature….it’s not, it’s dirty and druggy! Let’s see, O.J. in jail right after the book is released, and we know
that it was a “set up”, not saying that it wasn’t deserved….but it was well planned by somebody, to yank his ass, after the book was released.
Also, Johnny Cochran died a horrible brain cancer death…not that’s Karma. Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman’s spirits are still alive, and they’re going to get
justice. Here’s something that no one talks about. Why do men think that they own a woman, to the point where they feel that it’s their RIGHT to kill her
when their tired of having her around. (i.e. Scott Petersen and the list goes on). Some of you hate him and call him names simply because he’s Afri Amer.
Well, so am I and that didn’t change my opinion about it, but I think of it on a higher level of why is it that men, who come from the womb of a woman, no
matter color she is, then grow up to think that he is superior to a woman. Excuse You! No woman is less than a man….a dick does not make you superior.
Having explained that, O.J. is either guilty or not guilty because he either killed them or not. Buy the Book, let the Goldman’s get the money…but you and I,
especially women, need to disect the information, and find the real truth with the f’ng D.A.s office couldn’t do and bring this man to justice. He was at
a play of Sydney (his daughter), who did he really leave with, or hook up with later, and where was that hood rat older son of his at the time. There’s
opportunity for us women (even men who are sitting in prison for murder already) to truly solve this case, and bring justice, plus closure to the Goldman’s
and the Browns. Better Yet, I think that OJ being arrested for “robbery” is a set up to get his ass in jail and someone there is going to kill him. Or maybe torture
him until the truth comes out.
